Scepter
(Authority; Mace) A scepter in a dream means good conduct, emulating
the leading example of the Prophet Muhammad, upon whom be peace, rising to
a high ranking position, or becoming an authority. A scepter in a dream also
could represent a wild son, a crooked man, or a hypocrite. Playing with a scepter
in dream means using the help of such a person and assisting him to lay hands
on his rivals. The crosier represents the human heart and the staff represents
man’s tongue. Thus, playing with a scepter in a dream means playing at will.
Whatever may affect a scepter in a dream can be interpreted as affecting one’s
son or his tongue. If one sees himself hitting a small ball with a septer, or playing
with a ball in his dream, it represents a dispute with his wife, or a fight with
a hypocritical person. A scepter in a dream also indicates the presence of jinn
spirits, wars, devastations, or it could represent past benefits. Hitting someone
with a scepter in dream means getting what one desires from him, but through
crooked ways. If one sees his governor or his boss carrying a scepter in dream,

Cummerbund
(Belt; Cincture; Sash; Waistband) In a dream, the broad band worn
around the waist, also known as a sash or a cummerbund represents one’s
father, mother or paternal uncle. Tying a cummerbund around one’s waist in a
dream means that one has exhausted half of his life. Owning many cummer¬
bunds in a dream means longevity. A cummerbund in a dream also represents
one’s son or it could denote a bigman. If a ruler offers a cummerbund to someone
in a dream, it means that he is appointing him to a high ranking position.
Wearing a cummerbund without ornaments in a dream means that one will
receive the help of a great and a noble person, including moral and financial
support. If one is rich, then it means that he will have a great friend to support
him and whose inner thoughts and intentions are better than what one may
think. If a poor person ties a cummerbund around his waist in a dream, it means
extra earnings or power. If the cummerbund is studded and adorned with jewels
in the dream, then such jewels represent one’s helpers, supporters or obedient
subjects. Such associates will carry on his commands whether they purport good
or evil. Somehow, such a leader will also be unjust and hypocritical. If the
ornaments are made of iron in the dream, it means that his associates are a
group of strong people. If the ornaments are made from copper, then such
associates care only for worldly gains. If the ornaments are made from led in the

Slapping on the cheek
(Blow; Criticize; Smack) To lightly slap someone in a
dream means to reprimand him, or to oblige him to recognize a favor, boasting
about one’s generosity, or constantly reminding the other person of some shabby
assistance. If one playfully slaps someone lightly on his cheek in a dream, it also
means that the latter owes him something or a favor and the opposite is
interpreted accordingly. Slapping someone’s face with anger in a dream means
that the victim will triumph over the assailant. To slap someone in a dream also
means recognition of his seniority or superiority. Threatening someone in a

means compelling one’s enemy to retreat or to accept one’s conditions. To have
important relationships in a dream also cools the divine wrath, as when giving
charity in secret. This is true unless one’s connections or circle holds to a group
of evil companions, or if he mingles with a band of conspirators.

Shadow
(Under the sun, in the dark, or otherwise.) In a dream, a shadow
represents changes affecting one’s life in the world and his elevation or abasement.
A shadow in a dream also means guidance, repentance, true monotheism and
contemplating the Maker and His creation. If one moves but does not see his
shadow moving in a dream, it means abrogating the laws, discarding what is
permissible, adopting what is unlawful, death, becoming motionless, or losing
one’s senses. The same interpretation applies if one’s shadow disappears under
the sunlight, or under the moonlight, or in the night lights, or if his reflection
disappears from the water surface, or from any shiny surface. If one sees his
shadow dancing in a dream, it means falsehood, lies, stealing people’s money,
shifting one’s faith according to one’s personal interests, or that he criticize the
conduct of God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace. Dancing one’s shadow over a
carpet in a dream means invoking evil spirits, speaking their words after being

Hoopoe
(zool.) In a dream, a hoopoe represents a truthful messenger, an intimate
person, a spy, an arguing scholar, escape from adversities and sufferings, or
leveling a building. A hoopoe in a dream also represents one who knows God
Almighty and understands the value of the Divine Laws. If a thirsty person sees
a hoopoe in his dream, it means that he will find water. A hoopoe in a dream also
represents a great scholar who is constantly barraged with accusations and
blame because of the bird’s offensive smell. Seeing a hoopoe in a dream also
means profits, honor and wealth. Eating a hoopoe in a dream means receiving
news from the governor, or hosting a traveller. A hoopoe in a dream also
represents the king’s advisor, the court’s seer, an astrologer, a writer, a scribe,
or a critic. Holding a hoopoe in one’s hand in a dream means glad tidings, or
profits from a business in another market or town. Owning a hoopoe in a dream
means having influence over someone in authority, or it could represent a

Ring
In a dream, a ring represents peace, tranquility, authority, a wife, a child,
or a job, the reward of which will equal the value and size of the gemstone which
is placed on it. If one’s wife is pregnant, and if he sees himself wearing a golden
ring in a dream, it means that she will give birth to a son. The king’s ring in a
dream represents his kingdom. Cutting off a tight ring with a pair of pliers in
a dream means the end to one’s authority. Any incrustations on one’s ring in a
dream represent his goals. If the gemstone of one’s ring falls in a dream, it may
mean the death of his child, or the loss of his business. A broken ring in a dream
means divorce. Wearing a ring made of iron in a dream means that one will
receive benefits though with great strain on him. Wearing a golden ring carry ing
a precious stone in a dream means that such benefits will come with ease. If it
is a plain ring or a band with no stone, it means engaging in a strenuous project
and getting nothing out of it. Rings made of ivory or from an animal’s horn in
a dream represent glad tidings for a woman. Seeing someone in authority
stamping a document with his ring as a seal in a dream means that one will
receive an important political appointment. If one who is accustomed to wearing
a silver ring sees himself offering it as a gift to whoever he wishes in a dream,
it means that he will preside over an honorable post. Wearing the governor’s
ring in a dream means an appointment as a dignitary, or inheriting such a rank
from one’s father. If one’s father does not hold such a position, then it means the
opposite of one’s wishes. Finding a lost ring in a dream means earning money
from a foreign land, or having a new born son, or it could mean a marriage to
a righteous woman. If the stone of one’s ring seems unstable in the dream, it
means that one will be fired form his job. Removing one’s ring in a dream means
that one maybe removed from his job. If a woman sees herself removing her
wedding ring in a dream, it means the death of either her husband or of a close
relative. A ring in a dream also connotes a band, an encumbrance, or a shackle.
If one’s ring disappears and only the stone remains in the dream, it means that
once the responsibilities are gone, good memories of the person will remain. A
man wearing a golden ring in a dream represents innovation, and the results
will bring about afflictions, betrayal, or a revolt. Wearing a tight ring in the
dream means that one will be let off from a vicious woman, or that he will be
spared from a wicked duty. A borrowed wedding ring in a dream represents an
ownership that will not last. If one buys an engraved ring in a dream, it means
that he will own something he never owned before, such as a house, a vehicle,
or perhaps he may get married, or bear a child. If one sees rings being sold in
the open market in a dream, it means that the estates of the high society are
for sale or it could represent foreclosure. If one sees the skies raining rings in
a dream, it means that he will conceive a child during that year. If he is unwed,
it means that he will marry a rich and a virgin young woman during that same
year. If they are gold rings in the dream, it means that such a woman has lost
her wealth. If one places a ring in his little finger then removes it to place it on
his ring finger, then removes it again to place it on his middle finger in the
dream, it means that he solicits customers for a prostitute. If one notices his ring
sometime in his little finger, then in his middle finger, then in his ring finger
without his doing in the dream, it means that his wife will betray him with
another man. If he sells his ring for pennies or a handful of sesame, or for little
flour in a dream, it means that he will separate from his wife, though they will
have respect for one another, or it could mean that he will offer her a good
financial arrangement. Receiving a ring that is inlaid with a precious stone from
one’s son in a dream represents the good character and qualities of such a son.
A stone which is made from worthless glass beads in the dream denotes a weak
authority. A ring that is inlaid with a green sapphire in the dream means
begetting an intelligent son who will become a great man of knowledge. A
wooden ring in a dream represents a hypocritical woman. If a woman is offered
a ring in a dream, it means that she will get married, and for a married woman,
it means that she will give birth to a son. If the ring in one’s dream is interpreted
to mean money or clothing, then it represents one’s status and high esteem his
field. Receiving a ring as a gift in a dream also means happy news, or a marriage
to a beautiful woman. Seeing an atheist who publicly brags about his actions and
thoughts wearing a ring and turning its stone toward the palm of his hand in
a dream, it means that he engages in sodomy. If a believer turns his ring inside
during prayers in a dream, then it represents his modesty. Wearing a ring that
carries two gemstones, one to the outside and the other to the inside in a dream
means that one may chair two important appointments, material and a spiritual
ones, or inner and outer ones. Wearing a ring with a carnelian-red stone in a
dream means an end to one’s poverty. If a pious person, a religious person or an
ascetic receives a silver ring from God Almighty in a dream, it means his
salvation on the Day of Judgment. If he receives a silver ring from God’s
Messenger (uwbp) in a dream, it represents a gift of a greater knowledge. If it
is gold, iron, or copper, then it has negative consequences, because iron rings
represent the chains of the dwellers of hell-fire. Somehow, to wear a simple band
in one’s dream is better than wearing a heavy ring. Heavy rings in a dream also
may connote an assassination or deceit. On the other hand, large rings in a
dream also can be interpreted to mean something great, or something which
entails sizable benefits. Lead rings in a dream mean weak authority. If one
sends his ring to some people who returns it to him in the dream, it means that
he is asking to betroth someone from such a family, but his request will be
declined. If one sees his ring being forcefully pulled out from his finger in a
dream, it means that he will lose his rank or whatever the ring represents to
him. If one loses his ring in a dream, it means that he will experience something

Ringdove: (Dove; Pigeon; Turtledove) A ringdove in a dream represents a rebel¬
lious son, or a son who lies excessively, or a wife who lacks devotion and
tenderness, who is void of piety, who lies constantly, who possesses a difficult
character, or who consents only to her own opinion and interpretations of things.

Funeral
Joining the funeral prayers in a dream means fostering brotherhood with
people on God’s path. Walking by a funeral procession in a dream is interpreted
to represents a hypocrite who destroys or kills an evil person. If one sees himself
laid in a coffin though no one carries it in a dream, it means that he will be
imprisoned. If one’s coffin is carried by a group of people, it means that he will
support and serve a man of authority, then collect a financial reward for his
support. Involuntarily following a funeral procession in a dream means serving
a non-religious person in authority. Sitting on top of a coffin in a dream means
increase in one’s wealth. If one sees himself lifted and placed in a coffin in a
dream, it means that people will appoint him to a leadership position. If one sees
a group of people performing a funeral prayers and crying over the loss of the
deceased in a dream, it means that the conclusion of his life will be commendable.
Otherwise, if they express no sorrow for his loss or cry over him, but instead
criticize him in the dream, it means that the conclusion of his life will be
contemptible. If a merchant, a governor or a leader sees himself sitting over a
coffin that is moving freely by itself in the dream, it means taking a trip by sea.
If one sees the coffin flying in a dream, it means that a great man of knowledge
will die in that town and people will not know of it, or that a known person will
die in a foreign land or on the way to or back from a pilgrimage. If a funeral
reachs the cemetery in a dream, it means that people will surly regain their
rights. If one sees a large number of coffins scattered in a specific locality in a
dream, it means that the people of that community will break into violence,
adultery and evildoing. Carrying a coffin in a dream means earning unlawful
income. If a woman sees her own funeral in a dream it means that she will get
married. If she is married, it means payment of her debts. A funeral crossing
a marketplace in a dream means liquidation of merchandise. Paying tribute to
a funeral in a dream means bidding farewell or paying respect to a travelling
friend. Paying tribute to a passing funeral procession in a dream represents
one’s concern for his own comfort. If the deceased in the coffin points at the
person seeing the dream, it means that the latter will conduct his funeral, and
he will receive a reward for his service. If he serves that funeral till the burial
and the closing of the grave in a dream, it means that he will receive double that
reward, the value of which reward is known only to God Almighty. (Also see
