Renowned; Title) Fame in a dream represents a wedding that will be publicly
announced, or it could mean rising in rank. If one earns a title of recognition,
or if he becomes renowned, or if he is awarded a great prize for his work in a
dream, it means that he will learn that his wife has given birth to a beautiful
son. Such a son will follow his father’s footsteps, learn his trade or work at
spreading his knowledge or tradition, or he may govern and lead his people after

his dream, it means relief from stress. A dirty waistband in a dream means

signifies keenness of mind, perseverance in one’s objective, completion of one’s

Chess
(Challenges; Game) Playing chess in a dream means mixing with all kinds
of people. Playing chess in a dream also means deception, fights or a ploy. Seeing
a chessboard, and if no one is playing it in a dream represents a strike, or people
who are dismissed from their job. If one sees people playing it, then such people
represent the leaders or the statesmen. The winner in a chess game in a dream
is the winner of a political or a military maneuver. Whatever steps one takes
in playing chess in a dream will be reflected in the political arena. Playing chess
in a dream also could mean intending a fight, but not knowing whether he will
win or lose. It also could mean facing dangerous people, so one is warned in the
dream to be on guard against their tricks or ploys. Playing chess in a dream also
could mean vain talk or a weak fight. If one wins in the dream, it means that
he will win in wakefulness. A chess game in a dream also means a war, a fight,
booty, discovering secrets, pursuing hints, gradual movement, changing con¬

Stairway
(Conveyor; Steps; Travels) In a dream, stairways represent the vehicle
of rising in station, advancement in worldly gains, seeking the blessings of the
hereafter, and the rising of one’s station in the hereafter. A stairway in a dream
also could represent the days of one’s life and their term. If one sees a staircase
which he recognizes in the dream, it could represent the servant of a house, its
owner, or its accountant. If a sick person sees himself climbing an unknown
staircase which is leading him to the upper room from where he can see paradise
in the dream, it means that he may die from his illness and reach what he saw.
If obstacles hinder his way or impede his climb in the dream, it means that he
is detained, and the immediate blessings of such a gift will be veiled to him.
Descending a staircase in a dream means arriving from a journey, resigning
from one’s job, impeachment, or it could represent a pedestrian. If one’s descent
leads him to his family, house, or farmland in the dream, it means money. If
what he reaches at the end of the staircase is unknown, and if one meets people,
or souls he does not recognize in the dream, it also denotes what we have earlier
explained. If during one’s climb or descent he falls into a well, or if a giant bird
grabs him and flies away with him, or if a beast devours him, or if he steps into
a boat that sails away as he steps into it, or if he takes a step to find himself
riding an animal, or a vehicle of some type, the staircase then represents the
stages of one’s life and what he encountered during the journey of his life,
all replayed or screened before his eyes at the point of descending into his grave,
or as a book one reads after his death. If he does wake up and finds himself
healthy and fit, it means that he will become a tyrant, an unjust person, an
atheist and a reprobate. If one sees himself descending a staircase that leads
him into a mosque, lush foliage, green fields, a fresh breeze of spring, or into a
pond to take a ritual ablution to perform his prayers in the dream, it means that
he will become a true believer, repent for his his sins and abandon his
blameworthy conduct. Otherwise, if he descends upon adverse elements such as
snakes, lions, steep hills, corpses, or a field of scattered remains in a dream, then
it represents major trials and adversities. If the steps are made of clay in one’s
dream, they indicate positive signs. However, a stairway could be regarded as
unfavorable if its steps are made of backed bricks. If they are made of stones in
the dream, they mean business success, along with a heart like a stone. If the
staircase is made of wooden steps in the dream, it means reaching a high rank
which is compounded with hypocrisy. If they are made of gold in the dream, then
they mean achieving success and gaining authority. If they are made of silver
in the dream, they represent one’s entourage and attendants. Climbing a
staircase in a dream also means sharpening one’s intellect and awareness. In
a dream, a stairway is also interpreted to mean leading a life of ascetic
detachment and devotion. Coming near a staircase in a dream also means
attaining success and a growing piety. Each step represents a different station.
Climbing a staircase in a dream also represents the dangers one may have to
cross. Seeing a staircase with five steps in a dream represents the five time
prayers, or the pulpit where the Imam stands to deliver his Friday sermon. That
is why some interpreters qualify the staircase in one’s dream as glad tidings,
good news, prayers, charity, alms giving, fasting, or a pilgrimage. God knows

Hallway
(Corridor; Doorman) In a dream, a hallway represents a servant who
controls and manages the business and life of his employer. It also represents
a doorman, or one’s actions that guides him to his purpose, or one’s deeds that
could lead him either to paradise or to hell-fire. A hallway in a dream also
represents one’s grave, since the grave is a hallway to either heaven or hell, or
it may represent the steps of a sick person or a handicapped person. Its lights,
size and the ease of crossing it in the dream reflect the outcome.

Doorstep
(Door lintel; Doorplate; Threshold) In a dream, the doorstep of one’s
house represents one’s power, or it could mean marriage. If one sees himself
removing the doorstep of his house in a dream, it means losing his power. If he
removes the door lintels of his house in a dream, it means divorcing his wife. If
the door lintels are taken away and one could no longer see them in the dream,
it means his death. If he can still see them in the dream, then it means a sickness
from which he will recover. The door lintel in a dream also represents a woman
or the house bottler. If a governor sees the doorsteps of his house being removed
in a dream, it means that he will be impeached. Whatever happens to the
doorsteps in a dream should be interpreted as relating to one’s wife or a woman.

up something in a dream means turning the page on something, closing a book,
retracing one’s steps, winding up a conversation, or controlling the spread of a

Cradle
Buying a cradle or sitting in a cradle in a dream means blessings, grace,
profits and comfort. A cradle in a dream also represents a stepson or the
stepchild of a young woman. For men, a cradle in a dream signifies sorrow,
distress, imprisonment or a small and restrictive dwellings. As for an unmarried
man, seeing a cradle in a dream means that he will get married. As for a woman,
seeing a cradle in a dream means that she will bear a child, and it could mean
distress, trouble, adversities, uptightness, lamentation and crying. In a dream,
a cradle also represents singing, an amusement club, an argument or a dispute.

Foot
In a dream, feet represent man’s uprightness, for with them one stands
erect. If anything happens to one’s feet in a dream, it will reflect on his financial
standing, work, toiling, his boss or his delegations. If one sees his feet pointing
toward the heavens in a dream, it could denote the death of his child. If one’s
feet turn green, it means that he will suffer business losses. If one sees himself
committing loathsome sexual acts with his feet in a dream, it means that he will
pursue an unlawful sexual intercourse. Walking bear footed in a dream means
toiling in life, difficulties and fatigue. If one sees himself eating the foot of
another human being in a dream, it means that he will become a close friend
with him, acquire his intercession, reap success from his connection, fulfill his
needs, receive benefits in his travels, or if he qualifies, he may preside over a
group of poor people or guide seamen to their catch. If he is a poor person, it
means that his benefits to others are greater than if he were a rich person. If
a rich man sees himself eating the foot of another person in a dream, it means
illness, weakness or blindness. As for evildoers, eating someone’s foot in a dream
means imprisonment, sorrow and blame. If one sees one ofhis feet turning into
a stone, it means that he will be deprived of its use. If one steps over a king or
a ruler in a dream, it means that he will step over a coin of money that carries
the figure of such a ruler. If one’s foot is amputated in a dream, it means that
he will loose half ofhis wealth. If both his feet are amputated in the dream, it
means that he will lose all ofhis wealth, or that he may die shortly. One’s feet
in a dream also represent his parents or the leaders of the land. If one’s foot is
fractured in a dream, it means that he should not near the people of authorities
for some days or he better leave town for sometime and pray for his safety. If
a sick person sees his foot broken in a dream, it may mean his death. If one sees
one ofhis feet longer than the other in a dream, it means that he will travel and
profit from his journey, or receive the needed help during his journey. If he is
rich, it means that he will become sick. If a poor person sees himself having four
legs in a dream, it means that he will travel and receive help to accomplish his
goals. A rich person in that case may get sick, or it could mean longevity.
Walking on three feet in a dream means either that one will grow to be old, or
that through an ailment, he will not die until he uses a cane to help him walk.
If a ruler or a judge sees himself having many legs in a dream, it means that
he has many helpers. If one’s feet turn into iron in a dream, it means longevity
and prosperity. If they turn into glass in a dream, it means that he will live a
short life and suffer a debilitating illness. If they turn gold in the dream, it
means that he will use them to seek a lost property or a desired wealth. If they
turn silver in the dream, it means that he is a philanderer and he will live in
poverty, for lust for women and wealth cannot exist together. If one’s feet turn
into led in the dream, it means that he may suffer from paralysis, unless if the
dream contains other elements that denote actions which are pleasing to God
Almighty. If one sees his foot without a covering skin in the dream, it means
longevity. In a dream, one’s toes represent good deeds. Experiencing foot pain
in a dream means sins and punishment or repentance and endurance. (Also see
