Bat
( zool .) By God’s leave, a bat was one of the many signs of God’s prophet Jesus
son of Marry, upon both of them be peace. In a dream, a bat may represent a
monk. It also means glad tidings for a pregnant woman. Seeing a bat in a dream
is not considered as a good omen for a traveller. If a bat flies into a house in a
dream, it means the demolition of that house or the separation of that family.
A bat in one’s dream also represents a witch, or an unjust person who may have
suffered from deprivation in his childhood. A bat in a dream also signifies
blindness, heedlessness, a child of adultery, or a bastard son. In a dream, a bat
also means hiding from people because of one’s evildoing, such as theft or
eavesdropping. Seeing a bat in a dream also means the end of enjoying blessings

Call to prayers
(Azan; Muezzin) Hearing the call to prayers in a dream denotes
the pilgrimage season or announces its holy months. It also may indicate
backbiting, a theft, announcing a major move or blowing the trumpets of war,
or it could denote rank and honor or obeyed commands of the one seeing the
dream, or perhaps announcing a wife for an unmarried man, and it could mean
telling the truth. Hearing the call to prayers in a language other than the Arabic
in which it was revealed in a dream means lies and backbiting. If one sees a
woman calling to prayers, standing on the top of a minaret in a dream, it means
innovation and trials. If children give the call to prayers in a dream, it means
that people filled with ignorance will rule the land. This is particularly true
when the call is made outside the proper time. If a suitable person sees himself
adequately calling to prayers in a dream, it means that he will be appointed to
govern a land which is as vast as his voice can reach in the dream. If one does
not fit the conditions of ruling, then it means that his enemies will increase in
number. If he is a merchant, it means that his business will grow. Hearing the
call to prayers in a dream also may represent invocations, supplications and
good prayers. If one sees himself calling to prayers from inside a well in a dream,
it means that he will call people from another land to walk the path of God
Almighty, to follow the jurisprudence He made obligatory upon humanity, and
to adopt the divine laws as their way of life and religion. If calling from inside

a spy or an innovator who is introducing changes to God’s laws. If one sees

travelling in a caravan or in a marketplace in a dream, it means that he will

a dream, it means that such a place will be rebuilt and people will live in it. If
one sees himself calling to prayer from inside a bathhouse or while under the
shower in a dream, it means that he will suffer from a fever. If he sees himself
calling and no one is answering his call in a dream, it means that he belongs to
the company of unjust people. If he calls with a beautiful voice and the people
hearken to his call in the dream, it means that he is seeking the approval of
people in authority. If he sees himself calling to prayer while being naked, it
represents his recklessness and contempt about his own religion. Calling to

Tomcat
(Book of records; Cat; Reckoning; Siamese cat; Thief) In a dream, a tomcat
means a thief or a servant. A cat in a dream also represents an evil and a
treacherous woman. The same interpretation is given for anyone who compasses
people, or guards them, or someone who harms the interests of his employer
more than he benefits him. If a tomcat scratches someone or bites him in a
dream, it means that he will fall sick for a full year. The bite of a wildcat in a
dream is more dangerous and has greater implications. If one sees a tomcat
sitting peacefully and quietly in his house in a dream, it means that he will have
a comfortable, peaceful and a profitable year. Otherwise, a large wildcat in the
dream represents a troublesome year. Selling a tomcat in a dream means
spending one’s money in various charities. Eating a cat in a dream means
learning about sorcery. If one sees himself transformed into a tomcat in a dream,
it means that he lives from stealing and seeks what is harmful. A tomcat
entering one’s house in a dream represents a robber. Whatever a tomcat takes
from one’s house in the dream will be looted by such a thief. Killing or beating
a tomcat in a dream means catching a thief or killing him. If one extracts fat from
a cat in a dream, it means that he will receive stolen money or a share thereof.
Fighting with a tomcat in a dream means an affliction with a long and a
debilitating illness that will be followed by a complete recovery. If the tomcat
loses the fight, and if the man is already sick, it means that he will recover from
his illness shortly thereafter. Otherwise, if he loses in the dream, it means that
his illness has reached its peak. A cat or a tomcat in a dream also represent
reckoning, estrangement of one’s wife, her roughness with her husband, or they
could represent ill behaved children with their parents, fights, theft, adultery,
lack of loyalty, eavesdropping, taunting, roaring, clamor, a bastard son, a
foundling or an orphan. On the other hand, a cat in a dream could represent a
toadying person, dancing, being playful and kind, though awaiting to jump at
the first opportunity to spoil others’ peace. If the cat, the tomcat and the mouse,
or the lamb and the wolf become friends in the dream, it means hypocrisy,
affectation and loss of moral standards. A civet cat in a dream represents a man
who may have a suspicious look, though his character and conduct are exem¬

Worshipping fire
(Fire worshipper; Magi; Magus; Mazdaism; Sorcerer) Seeing an
old man worshipping fire in a dream means facing a person who cares little
about obliterating his enemy. Seeing oneself worshiping fire in a dream means
apostasy, committing adultery, theft, murder, making a false oath, polytheism,
or being an unjust person. Turning away from worshipping fire to embrace
Judaism or Christianity in a dream means experiencing major changes in one’s
life. Worshipping fire in a dream means desiring worldly pleasures. Worship¬
ping the fire in a dream also means desiring to work for the ruler or a king, or
it could mean going astray. If the fire one is worshipping is not lit in the dream,
it means that he is seeking unlawful earnings.

Adultery
(Rape) Committing the abominable and forbidden act of adultery in a
dream means betrayal. If one sees himself doing so in a dream, it means that
he will betray his wife. An unknown woman is better here than a known woman.
Adultery in a dream also means theft. If one sees an adulteress soliciting him
for fornication in a dream it means that he might be lured to earn unlawful
money. If one commits adultery with ayoung and a beautiful woman in a dream,
it means that he will place his earnings in a well-guarded place or a coffer. If
a strong person commits adultery in his dream and if he had to face the divine
ordinance and chastisement for his sin in the dream, it means that his authority
will expand. If the person in the dream qualifies for leadership, then he will be
endowed with one. If one sees himself committing adultery with the wife of a
close friend in a dream it means that he will take some money from him. If one
reads the ruling of the divine ordinance concerning the punishment of adulterers
in a dream, it means that he is an adulterer. If one deals with an adulteress or
with a woman who has committed adultery in a dream, then such a woman
represents the world and its seekers. If a student on the path of God Almighty,
who is known to have piety, good conduct and who has the look of a believer sees
himself dealing with an adulteress or a woman who has committed adultery in
a dream, it means that he will join the company of a gnostic and learn wisdom
at his hand. If one sees a man and a woman sitting alone in an intimate setting
in his dream, and if he recognizes them, it means that he desires some worldly
interests from such a man. If a man sees himself raping a young woman in a
dream, it means that he hides his savings in an unknown place. If he is caught
after that, and if the divine ordinance is exacted in the dream, his dream means
that he will follow the path of knowledge and understanding of religious
jurisprudence. If one commits adultery with an adulteress in a dream, it means
that he will face severe trials. If one enters a brothel in his dream and finds it
impossible to leave that place, it means that he may die shortly. If one sees
himself sleeping with someone else’s wife, while the husband is not minding in
a dream, it means that the husband will entrust him with his home to manage.
If one marries an adulteress in a dream, it means that he is an adulterer. (Also

Cat
A cat in a dream represents a book of records, one’s share from a business,
an inheritance, or his work. A cat in a dream also means shunning off one’s
husband, wife or children, or it could mean a fight, theft, adultery, disloyalty,
eavesdropping, backbiting or bearing a child from adultery, a bastard child, or
it could represent a gentle speaking person, a toadying person or someone who
desires to be accepted by others, and should he find an opportune moment, he
will spoil everyone’s peace. A cat in a dream also represents a banal woman who
likes herself. If a cat steels something from her master, it means that he may
pay a fine, have a fight with his relatives or children, and it could mean a
robbery. A wildcat in a dream means adversities, toiling and a wretched life.
Selling a cat in a dream means spending one’s money. The scratch of a cat in
a dream means that one will be betrayed by his servant. The bite of a cat in a
dream represents a hoaxer or a crooked woman. It is also said that a cat’s bite

A jeweler’s shop in a dream means happiness, celebrations, a

Jihad: (Inner and outer struggle) Joiningthe warriors in the battlefield in a dream
means that one is a true worshiper who attends to his regular prayers and pays
his charities and due alms. If one sees the people charging toward the battle¬
field, it means that they will receive an endowment of divine forgiveness,
victory, might and unity between the believers. To die as a martyr on God’s path
in a dream means joy, happiness and prosperity. Joining a jihad battle in the
sea in a dream means poverty, failure and walking toward destruction. Winning
a sea battle in Jihad against a tyrant in a dream means restoring one’s religious
commitment, and it could represent a protective jealousy for one’s wife, or
winning a struggle in favor of one’s parents. Victory in the battlefield during
Jihad means profits in one’s business. Returning from a holy war against an
oppressor in a dream means that one may lose his religious commitment or

Jinn: (Sing. Jinni) A creation from a smokeless fire. Among the Jinn, some are
believers while others are satans. This is in contrast to human beings who are
created from earth and among them some are believers and others are human
satans. Jinn in a dream represent fraud, deceit, cunning, perfidy, treachery,
theft, alcoholism, invented religious practices, travels, music, bars, tricks,
sleight of hand, illusion, sorcery and magic. If one is transformed into a Jinni
in a dream, it means that he will acquire such qualities. If one meets a Jinni who
displays truthfulness, knowledge and wisdom which is recognizable by the
person in the dream it means that he will receive good news. Seeing Jinn
standing by one’s door in a dream means losses, a vow that must be fulfilled, or
experiencing bad luck. Seeing Jinn entering one’s house and doing work there
in a dream means that thieves may enter that house and cause major losses. If
one sees himself teaching the Quran to a gathering of Jinn in a dream, it means
that he will be appointed to a leadership position. Accompanying Jinn in a
dream means familiarity with, and keeping the company of men of knowledge,
or people of inner knowledge. If one marries a female from amongst the Jinn in
a dream, it means that he will marry an insolent wife, or that he may suffer a
great calamity. If a righteous person sees himself chaining Jinn in a dream, it
means that he holds fast to his prayers, fasting, controls his carnal self and base
desires. Engaging in a battle with Jinn in a dream means that one will be safe
from their evil. To befriend a known leader from amongst the Jinn in a dream
means becoming a police officer and make it one’s profession to pursue criminals
and bandits. It also could mean that one might become a guided man of
knowledge or a teacher. Seeing Jinn gathering in a known locality in a dream
also may indicate the presence of snakes, scorpions, or what human beings may

Firewood
Firewood in a dream means slander and backbiting. If one puts two or
three logs to burn in the fire in a dream, it means that an argument will take
place or that an exchange of rough words will grow beyond one’s control. If a
religious person sees timber in his dream, it means that he will commits a major
sin such as theft, murder, or adultery, he will then be caught and put to justice.
If anyone kindles a fire in a dream, it means that he will report someone to the
authorities. Carrying firewood in a dream means exchanging harsh words,
slander, rebuke or calumniation. Seeing timber in one’s house also means
profits, fulfilling needs, inheritance or endowments. If the timber needs cutting
in the dream, it means earnings that involve great efforts, or earnings that bring
about evil. If the timber is already cut for the fireplace in the dream, it
represents a person who is favored by someone in authority, or it could mean
business success. Firewood in a dream also means adversities or stinginess.
Wrapped firewood in a bundle means mixed profits. If an unemployed person
sees himself carrying a bundle of firewood in a dream, it means that he will work
for a generous person. Gathering firewood in a dream means bringing medicine
for a sick person. Attributing the firewood to its mother tree or distinguishing
its fruit in the dream means money of a doubtful source. Offering timber to burn
in a religious ceremony in a dream means nearness to one’s Lord, or it could
mean offering a gift to one’s teacher, bringing a culpable before a judge, or
bringing a sick person to the doctor. In this case, if the timber burns before
putting it in the fire, it means that the gift was accepted, or that a guilty person
will receive a just verdict. Eating timber in a dream means earning unlawful
money. A tree stump or a log in a dream means a chronic illness or paralysis.
