Painter
(Artist; Illustrator) In a dream, a painter represents knowledge, archi¬
tecture, wisdom, writing poems, writing love songs or telling lies. A painter in
a dream also represents someone who conceals his acts, or hides his true face.
He also could represent alcoholism, falling in love, marriage, or having children.
Some of the painter’s works are beneficial while others are harmful. All
depending on the quality of his work, its objectives, balance, resemblance to the
object painted and authenticity. The characteristics of such a person in the
dream may be that of a hypocrite in wakefulness, or an ostentatious person, a
toadying person, a hypocrite, a panegyrist, or a lauding person, though he
mostly looks as a good, sincere and a hard working person. The value of his
paintings varies depending on the subject treated. A painter in a dream also
represents a person who loves flattery, self-adulation, an eloquently speaking
person, a liar, one who fails his promises, or he could represent strength and

Flattery
(Excessive admiration or adulation of someone in a dream.) Ingratiating
oneself to someone for worldly profits, or to gain access to knowledge, or to find
a job to help him better apply his religious obligations in a dream means honor,
correcting one’s religious practices or attaining one’s spiritual goals. It also
means evil consequences if one does not usually strive after such needs, or if he
presents his needs too favorably, or if he does so in a dream soliciting favors from
a woman he knows. It also means escaping from the dangers of his enemy.
However, flaterry and ingratiating oneself to others in a dream also could mean
giving preference to others’ needs over one’s own, trueness and being charitable.

a cow, etcetera, means having a soft heart, speaking gentle words, ability to
draw people to oneself. Caressing someone during the daylight in a dream
means slandering and backbiting him. Caressing a woman in a dream means
that one will become a translator, or it could represent a frivolous person or
someone who appeals to ludicrous people, or it could mean self-adulation or
deficiency in one’s craftsmanship.

In season, an eggplant in a dream means earnings with little effort,
while seeing an eggplant out of season in a dream denotes negativity and
disliked. Eating an eggplant in a dream means falling prices. An eggplant in a
dream also represents the element of arrogance, self adulation, perfidy, cheat¬
ing others, and a man with many faces. As for fishermen, seeing eggplants in
a dream means a good catch, joy and success.

Incense
Perfuming oneself with sweet incense in a dream means having a good
friendship. An incense burner or holder in a dream represents a certitude that
is praiseworthy. Perfume in a dream basically means good, though to a bedridden
person it means death. This category includes: amber, henna plant ( Lawsonia
inermis, bot.), or fumigating oneself with sweet incense, though there is a
danger that could arise from the smoke in the dream. Perfuming oneself with
amber in a dream means increase in earnings that will come through the labor
of a rich person who is associated with the one seeing the dream. The seeds of
any dark colored perfume such as carnation, clove, or their powder, etcetera,
means receiving praises. The elements encompassed herein include: richness
after poverty, knowledge after ignorance, peace with one’s adversaries, bribery,
divulging one’s secrets, ingratiating oneself to a superior for personal gains, or
adulation. Incense in a dream also represents the heat of one’s love or passion.
In a dream, perfuming oneself with incense also means using an amulet or a
charm to repel jealousy, or to break through the stratagem of sorcery. Incense
in a dream also means using charm to bring peace, tranquility and profits if one

Swelling
Swelling in a dream means increase in one’s earnings, or earnings that
will be quickly spent, or it could mean increase in one’s knowledge. Swelling in
a dream also signifies pride, self-adulation, or a hidden claim. If a swelling from
inflammation subsides in a dream, it means the return of a traveller, calming
the fury of an angry person, controlling the exasperation of an outraged person,
things returning to normal, appeasement of a repulsive person, or loss of one’s
