Cemetery
(Burial ground; Grave; Graveyard) Seeing a cemetery or a graveyard
in a dream means appeasement and comfort for a terrified person, and dismay
to a comfortable and a relaxed person. A graveyard represents the elements of
fear, hope and return to guidance after heedlessness. A cemetery represents the
hereafter, because it is its vehicle. A cemetery in a dream also represents the
prison of the body, but in a dream, it also means seclusion, devotion, abstinence,
asceticism or admonition. A cemetery also can be interpreted as the dead looking
drunkard in a bar, a man laying flat in a prostitution house, the home of a
heedless person who often sleeps rather than pray or a hypocrite whose deeds
are not subject to receiving a heavenly reward, etcetera. If a sick person walks
into a funeral procession in a dream, it means that his illness will culminate in
his death. If he is not sick and then during that procession he weeps or prays
for the deceased person in the dream, it means that he will repent of his sins,
join spiritual study circles and serves the people of knowledge. Such a person
also may attain a blessed spiritual station and benefit from what he hears and
sees. If one sees himself walking in a funeral procession and neglecting respect
and contemplation, and instead laughs and jokes, it means that he will befriend
evildoers and accept their evil conduct as a standard norm of behavior. If one
sees himself visiting a graveyard for seclusion, self-awakening and self-re¬
straint, then if he reflects about words of truth, wisdom and repentance in his
dream, it means that he will be asked to judge between two people, and that he
will rule with justice. If one does not contemplate thus in the dream, it means
that he will forget about something important or dear to his heart. If one enters
the graveyard calling to prayers in a dream, it means that he will admonish
people, commands what is good and forbids what is evil. If one sees himself
entering a graveyard and walking over the scattered bones of the dead people
in a dream, it means that he will die and be buried there. A cemetery in a dream
also represents admonition, reading the Quran, crying, reminiscence, piety,
surrender to one’s destiny and discarding worldly gains. A cemetery in a dream
also may represent the scholars, ascetics, governors, leaders, camps or a brothel.
The graves of saints or shrines in a dream signify innovation, heedlessness,
intoxication, adultery, corruption and fear. A stone tomb or a sarcophagus in a
dream signifies profits, war prisoners, a booty or exposing one’s personal
secrets. (Also see Burial; Grave; Shrine)

Gospel
(Injeel) If a person sees himself carrying the gospel in a dream, it means
that he devotes his life to worship, asceticism and gives preference to solitary
life. If a ruler sees that in his dream, it means that he will conquer his enemy.
Carrying the Gospel in a dream also could represent a false witness, or
slandering a chaste woman. If a sick person sees himself carrying the gospel in

Ali
(‘Ali bin ‘Abi Talib, God bless his countenance, cousin and son in-law of God’s
Messenger, upon whom be peace.) Seeing him in a dream means victory over
one’s enemy. Seeing him in a place or a mosque where people are mourning him
or performing the funeral prayer on him or carrying his coffin or prostrating to
him in a dream means becoming a Shiait or gathering one’s strength for a
rebellion or to create divisiveness, or it could mean hypocrisy. If a scholar sees
him in a dream, it means that he will earn increased knowledge, asceticism,
reverence and strength. Seeing him in a dream also means capture by one’s
enemy, migrating from one country to another and mostly to die as a martyr.
Seeing ‘Ali in a dream also means having a blessed progeny, vanquishing one’s
enemy, presiding over the believers, hardships during travels, booty, manifestation
of blessings and miracles, acquiring extraordinary knowledge, following the
leading practices of God’s Messenger, upon whom be peace, or fulfillment of
one’s commands. If one sees him as an old man in a dream, it means establishing
a connection with the leadership of the land and profiting from it. Seeing him
with wounds over his body in a dream means that one will become subject to
people’s slander and defamation.

benefits. Wearing it during the summertime represents strain, distress and
adversities. Wearing a woolen garment in a dream also means lawful money and
prosperity. Sleeping over a sheepskin in a dream means becoming rich from
associating with a rich woman, or from a marriage to a rich woman. Burning
wool in a dream means religious contempt, or loss of capital. If a man of
knowledge sees himself wearing a woolen garb in a dream, it means that he is
leaning toward an ascetic life, or that he will become a caller to God’s path, teach
people to love the eternal comfort of the hereafter and to despise the temporary
pleasures of this world. Wearing a woolen cloak with nothing under it in a dream
means receiving money from a noble and a well respected person. A dog wearing
sheepskin in a dream represents a lowly person who subsidizes his business
through a well known and a respected person. If one sees a lion wearing a
sheepskin in a dream, the lion here represents a tyrant who confiscates people’s
money and property. Wool in a dream also represents purity, clarity and
asceticism, except if the wool is coarse or unsuitable to wear, then it means
