woman. Selling one’s mattress in a dream means divorcing one’s wife. If one’s
wife is sick, then selling one’s mattress means that she may die from her illness.
If one sees a dog or a pig sleeping on his mattress in a dream, it means that an
insolent person is having a secret affair with one’s wife. If the mattress is stuffed
with wool, cotton, or down in the dream, it represents a wealthy woman. If the
mattress is made of brocade or silk in the dream, it represents a Hindu woman.
If the color of the mattress is white in the dream, it represents a religious and
a pious wife. A green mattress in a dream represents a pious and a religious
wife. A black mattress in the dream represents a woman who is engaged in
doing something for other than God’s pleasure. Buying a new and a beautiful-

human being in a dream also means following his tracks or practices. If a
positive look manifests therein, such as a sweet fragrance or the emergence of
a radiant light, or if it turns into iron in the dream, it signifies one’s gratitude
regarding his own condition. In a dream, the rear side of the human being
represents his outward appearance or what renders the human being accept¬
able, or it could represent his garment, an ostentatious person, a show of
grandeur, pride about one’s social class, a show of being wealthy, the surround¬

a ship in a dream means escape from danger, overcoming adversities, recovering
from an illness, or it could represent rain after a severe drought. If one who is
experiencing adversities sees a ship or a boat anchored in a harbor in his dream,
it means that his adversities will be lifted shortly. If one sees himself pulling
it, or driving it on dry land in a dream, it means that he is a hypocrite or a pimp.
If he rides a ship along with righteous people in a dream, it means that he is
guided on the straight path and that his sins will be forgiven. If one reaches the
shore and leaves the boat in a dream, it means that he will live in safety and
happiness, and he will escape from the danger of his enemies. If one who is
dismissed from his work sees himself on a boat in a dream, it means that he will
be rehired to occupy the same office and regain his authority, or that he may take
a dangerous trip during which he may either die or escape from death. If one
thinks that the ship does not befit his class or rank in the dream, it means that
he will face danger. If one’s ship is drowning, and if another ship comes to its
rescue in the dream, it means that one will escape from a great danger to fall
into the hands of a strong person, or that he will escape from a danger, though
should he disobey its captain and abandon the second ship in his dream, it
means that he may disobey his leader and go astray. Recovering one’s ship from
the deep in a dream means regaining power. If the ship in one’s dream is
interpreted as power, it means that he will lose his power or authority. If the
ship is interpreted as burdens and difficulties, it means that he will overcome
them through prayers or giving charity, or taking a medicine if he is ill. If one’s

debris from the ship in the dream, it means that he will face the wrath of

that he will waiver in his faith and deviate from the path of truth to follow
innovations, hypocrisy and insolence. If he is not seeking knowledge, it means
that he will divorce his wife, then proceed to live with her in sin. If he is a
merchant, it means that his business will stagnate and he will seek unlawful

one’s enemy. Riding a horse in a dream means dignity, honor and wealth.
Perhaps it could mean that one will befriend a noble person, or meet a good
companion on the road. Owning a mare in a dream means begetting a beautiful
son. If it is a nag or a workhorse in the dream, it means that he will live satisfied,
or that he may marry a rich and a noble woman who will bear his children.
Seeing a horse in a dream also may connote owning a good house. If it is a blond
horse in the dream, it means knowledge, devotion, piety and fear of wrongdoing.
A nag in a dream represents a wife or a husband. A saddled horse in a dream
means a woman in her menstrual period, during which time it is not permissible
for the husband to engage in marital intercourse with her. A gathering of horses
in a dream represents a gathering of women for a funeral or a wedding. Owning
a herd of horses, or taking care of their feed in a dream means presiding over
people, or it could mean managing a business. If a horse dies in one’s presence

seller in the dream means profits in one’s business, or earning money from
teaching. Selling one’s horse in a dream means doing good and being grateful
for it. If one’s horse bites him in a dream, it means that he will lead an army
in a war. If one kills a horse in his dream, it means that he will be awarded

property. If a woman sees herself wearing a waistband, then it represents her
brother, brother in-law, or father in-law. If she is pregnant, it means that she

needs and serving the interests of his family. Eating from the dirt one piles from
digging in his dream represents a swagger, or someone who acquires money
through deception. Seeing oneself inside a hole in a dream also means divorce.
To see oneself outside of such a hole looking at it in a dream means having an
argument with one’s spouse that will end in reconciliation. If a sick person or
a prisoner sees himself coming out of a hole in a dream, it means that he will
become free from his trials. Falling into a hole and crying for help to no avail
in a dream means taking a short trip. A hole in a dream also represents a poor
woman who strives to cover others pitfalls, though she cannot veil her own.
Hiding inside a hole in a dream also means appeasement of one’s fears, or ending
of one’s adversities. If while hiding, one finds food, or fresh water, or a cloth to
cover himself in the dream, it means profiting from sources one does not

represents a king or a judge who deals with Islamic jurisprudence. If a king, a
ruler, or a judge sees that the Holy Book does no longer exist, or if he sees it
burning, or if its contents are washed away in a dream, it means his death. If
one sees a ruler or a governor handwriting a copy of the Holy Book in a dream,
it means that he is a just person who uses the divine laws in making his decision.
If a judge sees himself handwritings copy of the Holy Book in a dream, it means
that he does not share his knowledge, and that he is audacious about his rank
and status. If a religious scholar or a theologian sees himself writing a copy of
Holy Book in a dream, it means that he will profit from a business deal. If one
sees a king, or a ruler swallowing the Holy Book in a dream, it means that he
may die soon. If a judge swallows the Holy Book in a dream, it means that he
accepts bribes. If a ruler sees himself erasing what is written in the Holy Book
in a dream, it means that he will be exiled. If a judge erases what is written in
the Holy Book in a dream, it also means his death. If he erases it by licking it
with his own tongue in a dream, it means that he will commit an awful sin. If
a witness erases it in a dream, it means that he will deny his own testimony.
Carrying the Holy Book, or buying a copy of the Quran in a dream means living
by its criterion. Reading from the Holy Book before God’s Prophet, upon whom
be peace, in a dream means that one will commit himself to memorizing it.
Eating the pages of the Holy Book in a dream means accepting bribes. If a
layman eats the pages of the Holy Book, or few lines from some pages in a dream,
it means that he earns his livelihood from reciting the Holy Quran or teaching
it. Eating the pages of the Holy Book in a dream also means earning one’s
livelihood from copying and selling it. Seeing the Holy Book in a dream also
mans growing in wisdom. Handwriting copies of the Holy Book in a dream
denotes one’s piety, or it could represent a religious scholar who lives by the
book, act by its commands and shares his knowledge with others. Tearing off the
pages of the Holy Book in a dream means ingratitude toward God’s revelations,
or denying God’s favors, or questioning some of them. If one does something to
the Holy Book in his dream that he would abhor to do in wakefulness, it means
that he has lost his religious devotion and faith. Carrying a copy of the Holy Book
in a dream means attaining power and acquiring knowledge. The Holy Book in
a dream also represents a husband, a wife, a son, or wealth. If a sick person sees

will gain honor and status, for it is the month of the prophet's Ascension (Mi'raj)

month, known in Arabic as Sha'ban, represents honor and ranks, for during

Seeing or eating sweets in a dream indicates one’s sincerity in his
religious attendance, release of a prisoner, arrival of a traveller, recovery of a
sick person, marriage of an unwed person, guidance, repentance, learning the
Quran, buying new clothing for one’s children, having a loyal servant, or
earning blessed monies. Seasonal sweets in a dream represent witnessing an
annual festival, or the reinstatement of a just ruler. To feel saturated with
sweets in a dream means self-conceit, lies, or it could mean extollment, or
speaking nice words. Eating sweets in a dream also means suffering from cold
symptoms. Though, eating fermented sweets or preserves in a dream may
represent a cure. If a sweet is made from the basic four ingredients (i.e., honey,
sugar, flour and manna or dates, or other fillings) in a dream, it means
happiness, longevity, or escaping from the consequences of a dangerous busi¬
ness one ventures in with greed. As for a believer, eating sweets in a dream
means tasting the blessings of one’s faith, though for a disbeliever, it means

Seeing plaster in any form in one’s dream means preserving one’s dignity,
holding to one’s status and position, or it could mean persevering in one’s goals.
Plaster in a dream also could be interpreted as having a good marriage, good
children, assiduity, concern for one’s religious duties, applying knowledge to
one’s words, ability to appreciate and to express one’s gratitude, recovering from
an illness, buying new clothing, or drafting a just agreement. Gypsum in a
dream has the same interpretation. If a renunciate or a pious person sees plaster
or gypsum in his dream, it becomes a proof of an unlawful or sullied substances
mixing with their earnings, or it could mean engaging in religious innovations,
neglecting to follow the prophetic example, or becoming a hypocrite. (Also see
