in a dream means submission to His will, abstaining from arrogance and
establishing God’s rules in one’s life. Bowing in prayers also means fulfilling
one’s aspirations in this world and quickly triumphing over one’s enemy. If one
sees himself standing in prayers, but remains standing without bowing until the
prescribed time elapses in a dream, it means that he does not pay his due alms.
Bowing in prayers in a dream also means a job for someone who needs it most.
Bowing in a dream also means longevity. If a woman sees herself bowing before
God Almighty in prayers in a dream, it means repentance and exalting her name

Cauterize
(Brand; Burn; Castigate; Punishment; Seal; Sear) Cauterization in a
dream denotes a ruler, or it could mean painful words. If one’s forehead or sides
are seared or cauterized in a dream, it means that he is obviating or hindering
the distribution of charities or the due alms tax on one’s assets, or it could mean
a crack down by the authorities on people who are evading to pay their taxes,
or it could mean separation between dear ones. If one is cauterized with gold or
silver in the dream, it means stinginess or hindering the payment or distribu¬
tion of God’s rights upon one’s earnings to poor and needy people. If one is
cauterized with iron in a dream, it means punishment for his sins. Discovering
old marks from cauterization in a dream means discovering a treasurer.
Cauterizing someone in a dream also means speaking to someone with harsh
and painful words. If the mark left by such cauterization looks like a rounded
seal in a dream, it means subjugation to a court order or complying with the law.
Cauterizing a vein or a knee in a dream means begetting a daughter or getting
married, or it could mean slandering a stranger. Discovering a burn caused by
cauterization in one’s chest in a dream means presiding over people. If one’s
back is seared or cauterized in a dream, it denotes stinginess, or it could mean

Honey
(Love) In a dream, honey represents lawful money, love, prosperity, or
wealth which is accumulated from a business partnership, or from a successful
business. As for a pious person, honey in a dream represents the delight of his
religious life and good deeds, while for profane and worldly people, it means
little earnings which are acquired through toiling and hardships. If one sees the
skies raining honey in a dream, it means confirmation of the social order,
fostering proper moral standards, easiness, religious assiduity, blessings and
plenitude. Honey in a dream also could represent a husband and a wife, or their
private moment, taking a rest, or engaging in a marital relationship. However,
honey in a dream also means distress, trouble, bad-temper, jealousy, or worrying
about people’s perfidy, for honey also attracts flies and wasps. Purified honey
in a dream means relief after suffering from a depression, or recovering from a
nervous breakdown, or giving birth to a child after completing a full pregnancy,
or it could mean marrying a woman after she had observed her Iddah of either
the passing of her husband or divorce ( See Iddah), or it could represent clean
money, or earnings which are purified through paying the due alms and
charities, or it could mean knowledge that is free from innovation, doubt or
suspicion, or a final guidance after which there is no heedlessness. Purified
honey in a dream also means hard earned money, a medicine, or the embrace
and kisses of lovers. Licking honey in a dream means getting married. Eating

accumulated wealth that is bearing heavy on its owner because of the methods
he uses to gather it, or because of failing to pay its due alms tax, or required

(Sock) In a dream, stockings represent wealth and prevention, as long
as they are not worn. Once seen worn in a dream, they mean business losses.
If one’s mother is alive, it means that he will migrate with her to another
country, or it could mean that she will be deprived of her son. If the socks are
new and have a clean smell in the dream, it means that one regularly pays his
due alms, that he is praised for his character and that his money will grow in
a lawful way. If his socks are old or emit bad odors in the dream, it means that
he withholds paying the obligatory alms tax, that he is uncharitable, worthy of blame and that his wealth will quickly disappear.

Bleeding nose
A bleeding nose in a dream means unlawful money, or it could
mean a miscarriage. If one’s nose bleeds and if he thinks in the dream that such
bleeding will benefit him, then it means that he will receive benefits from his
superior at work. Otherwise, if in his dream one thinks that such bleeding will
hurt him, then harm will unfailingly come to him from his superior. If he is the
boss, then he will benefit or lose accordingly. A bleeding nose in a dream may
represent good health. It also could mean correcting one’s religious and spiritual
attitudes. In fact, it all depends on one’s own consciousness in his dream and
how he perceives the bleeding of his nose. Thus, feeling bad about it or weak from
it means poverty. If the blood stains his clothing in the dream, it means that he
will receive unlawful money or commit a sin. If the blood does not stain his
clothing, then he might walk free from an ill he had indulged in. If the blood from
one’s nose drips on the road in the dream, it means that he regularly pays his
due alms which he distributes to poor people in the streets. It is also said that
seeing one’s nose bleeding in a dream means finding a lost treasure. Otherwise,

Sheep
A herd of sheep in a dream represents a good flock, obedient subjects, or
good citizens. Sheep in a dream also signify joy, happiness, festivities, a wife,
children, a farmland, properties, prosperity or wealth, and particularly when
one pays the due alms tax on his money making ventures and liquid assets.
Owning a herd of sheep in a dream represents a growing wealth. Passing by a
herd of sheep in a dream means passing a gathering of men who have no brain.
If a herd of sheep faces someone in a dream, they represent a group of people
who will welcome him with a fight which one will eventually win. Receiving a
herd of sheep as a gift in a dream means a political appointment, knighthood,
knowledge, the seat of justice, or a blessing in one’s life. Shearing off the wool
of a sheep in a dream is a warning that one should remain aloof for three days.
Both the white sheep and the black sheep in a dream mean profit, though the
benefits one draws from a white sheep are greater. Seeing a herd of sheep in a
dream means continuous happiness. Walking by a slaughter house or a tripe
shop and witnessing the heads and trotters of sheep in a dream mean longevity.
To find oneself transformed into a sheep in a dream means a booty or winning
something. Seeing a sheep in one’s dream also represents an obedient son. If
one’s wife is pregnant, and if he is presented with a sheep as a gift in a dream,
it means that she will deliver a boy. Otherwise, the remaining little domesti¬
cated animals represent headache, because of the responsibility involved in
caring for and in upbringing the boys, except for the girls, for they represent
worldly success and profits. If one sees himself slaughtering a sheep in a dream,
it means that one of his boys will shortly die, or perhaps it could be the son of
someone he knows. A sheep trader in a dream represents a good man who is
intuitive and who spends his money on the path of seeking knowledge, or to
propagate the same. If one sees himself having a fat tail like that of a sheep in
a dream, it means that his livelihood will depend on the revenues of his

A jeweler’s shop in a dream means happiness, celebrations, a

Jihad: (Inner and outer struggle) Joiningthe warriors in the battlefield in a dream
means that one is a true worshiper who attends to his regular prayers and pays
his charities and due alms. If one sees the people charging toward the battle¬
field, it means that they will receive an endowment of divine forgiveness,
victory, might and unity between the believers. To die as a martyr on God’s path
in a dream means joy, happiness and prosperity. Joining a jihad battle in the
sea in a dream means poverty, failure and walking toward destruction. Winning
a sea battle in Jihad against a tyrant in a dream means restoring one’s religious
commitment, and it could represent a protective jealousy for one’s wife, or
winning a struggle in favor of one’s parents. Victory in the battlefield during
Jihad means profits in one’s business. Returning from a holy war against an
oppressor in a dream means that one may lose his religious commitment or

Jinn: (Sing. Jinni) A creation from a smokeless fire. Among the Jinn, some are
believers while others are satans. This is in contrast to human beings who are
created from earth and among them some are believers and others are human
satans. Jinn in a dream represent fraud, deceit, cunning, perfidy, treachery,
theft, alcoholism, invented religious practices, travels, music, bars, tricks,
sleight of hand, illusion, sorcery and magic. If one is transformed into a Jinni
in a dream, it means that he will acquire such qualities. If one meets a Jinni who
displays truthfulness, knowledge and wisdom which is recognizable by the
person in the dream it means that he will receive good news. Seeing Jinn
standing by one’s door in a dream means losses, a vow that must be fulfilled, or
experiencing bad luck. Seeing Jinn entering one’s house and doing work there
in a dream means that thieves may enter that house and cause major losses. If
one sees himself teaching the Quran to a gathering of Jinn in a dream, it means
that he will be appointed to a leadership position. Accompanying Jinn in a
dream means familiarity with, and keeping the company of men of knowledge,
or people of inner knowledge. If one marries a female from amongst the Jinn in
a dream, it means that he will marry an insolent wife, or that he may suffer a
great calamity. If a righteous person sees himself chaining Jinn in a dream, it
means that he holds fast to his prayers, fasting, controls his carnal self and base
desires. Engaging in a battle with Jinn in a dream means that one will be safe
from their evil. To befriend a known leader from amongst the Jinn in a dream
means becoming a police officer and make it one’s profession to pursue criminals
and bandits. It also could mean that one might become a guided man of
knowledge or a teacher. Seeing Jinn gathering in a known locality in a dream
also may indicate the presence of snakes, scorpions, or what human beings may

Barley
Barley corns in their fields in a dream represent spiritual awakening and
a conscious endeavor to do good. Seeing barley in a dream also denotes easy and
sweet income. If one barters wheat for barley in a dream, it means that he will
forget the Quran and pursue poetry. Buying or carrying a measure of barley in
a dream means that one may conceive a son who will grow to be pious and a man
of knowledge, though his life will be short. It is also said that barley in a dream
represents money spent toward one’s health and fitness. Buying barley from its
distributor in a dream means receivings great wealth or an inheritance, though
one must pay its due alms tax and charities. If one sees himself planting barley
in a dream, it means that he will engage in doing a good deed that will please
God Almighty. Walking through barley fields in his dream means that one will
be blessed with the opportunity to participate in a holy war. Farming barley
fields in a dream represents people’s deeds. If one plants barley in a dream, it
means that he will prosper from his business or from governing, or that he will
receive an endowment from someone in authority. Seeingbarley in a dream also

sees himself as a tax collector in a dream, it means that he will earn respect, or

represent a policeman, an emissary, a treasurer, or a safe.

Beard
For a man, a beard in a dream signifies wealth, honor and dignity. If it is
moderately long or well trimmed in the dream, it means earning respect, rising
in rank, prosperity, beauty and sovereignty. If only the sides of one’s beard are
long and not the middle section in the dream, it means that one will work to save
money for someone else. If one’s beard is too long and lacks proper trimming in
a dream, it means indebtedness, distress and suffering from depression. If it
becomes long to the extent of reaching the floor in the dream, it means death.
If one’s beard grows long and thick in a dream, it means longevity or increase
in one’s wealth. If it reaches his belly in the dream, it means that he does not
obey God’s commands. If it grows longer than one’s grip in the dream, it means
that one lives from the interest he earns from usury. If the hair of one’s beard
is black in the dream, it means prosperity and satisfaction in one’s life. If its color
is greenish-black in the dream, it means extended wealth, power and rulership,
unless if one is a tyrant, for the color of Pharaoh’s beard was greenish-black. If
the color of one’s beard yields to yellow in the dream, it means poverty and
illness. If its color is blondish in the dream, it means a scare. If one grabs his
own beard in the dream and if its hair falls into his hand, and if he keeps holding
to the hair, it means incurring financial losses then recovering them, unless one
discards the hair in the dream. Pulling someone’s from his beard in the dream
means inheriting him. If one sees a young boy who has not reached the age of
puberty having a beard in a dream, it means the child’s death. If the child’s beard
is just starting to grow in the dream, it means that he will grow to lead and
command people. If one’s beard is shallow and if it makes him look fatuous in
a dream, it means payment of one’s debts or easing of his trouble or dispelling
of his distress. If one’s beard looks childish or completely immature in the
dream, it means losing people’s respect. If the color of one’s beard is gold in the
dream, it means that he will lose some respect and perhaps half of his wealth.
Seeing one-half of one’s beard shaved in a dream means poverty. If an unknown
young person shaves one’s beard in a dream, it means loss of dignity and injury
caused by one’s enemy or competitor or someone who carries the same name. If
an old man shaves his beard in a dream, it means that he will lose his good
reputation at the hand of a profiteer and an overpowering enemy. If one’s beard
is cut off in a dream, it means financial losses valued at how far it is trimmed.
Clipping what is longer than man’s grip of one’s beard in a dream means paying
the due alms tax. Cutting off someone’s beard in a dream means swindling his
inheritance. A white beard in a dream means honor, dignity and good fame. If
one’s beard turns gray, leaving few black hairs in the dream, it means earning
respect. If all its hair becomes gray in the dream, it means poverty and loss of
integrity. Seeing one’s wife having a beard in a dream means increase in one’s
wealth or growth of the son’s business, or sickness of one’s wife, or it could mean
that she will no longer be able to conceive children, though if she had a son, it
means that he will control the entire family. If a woman sees herself having a
beard in a dream, it means losing her husband and if she is a widow, it means
that she will marry a hard-working man who is compatible with her. If a
pregnant woman sees that in a dream, it means that she will beget a son, and
if she has a quarrel with someone, it means that she will win the battle and stand
for herself with dignity and courage. Plucking one’s facial hair or beard in a
dream means wasting money. If one’s beard and head is shaved in a dream, it
means recovering from an illness, satisfying one’s debts or dispelling sorrow and
distress. Having an extraordinarily long beard that one can spin and weave as
a cloth, then sells it in his dream means that he will forge a testimony. Clipping
one’s beard in a dream also means losing money. One’s beard in a dream also
represents his job, business, clothing, gains and losses. Cutting off the hair of
one’s beard with one’s own teeth in a dream means sufferings, distress and
trouble. Swearing by the honor of one’s beard in a dream may denote either one’s
truthfulness or lies, his stinginess or generosity. One’s beard in a dream also
could represent his wife. If a farmer finds the hair of his beard black in a dream,
it means that he should start harvesting his crop. A white beard could denote
illness or frailty. If one’s beard in wakefulness is gray and he sees its color black
in a dream, it means strength, determination, firmness, certainty, having great
energy and exuberance. If one’s beard in his dream seems longer than the usual,
it means being a spendthrift, wasting money, engaging in gambling and
sportinggames, or suffering from depression, or beingtroubled by circumstances.
If a subversive and a sinful person sees himself having a beard in a dream, it
means that he will repent of his sins. If a misguided person sees himself having
a beard in his dream, it means that he will receive guidance. If a woman grows
a beard in her dream, it means that she is trying to be a man, or it could mean
insolence or engaging in wrongdoing. If a child sees himself having a beard in
a dream, it means longevity. Loving a beard and kissing it in a dream means
lacking determination or will, regardless if it is his own beard or if it is someone
else’s beard. If a straw or anything sticks to one’s beard in a dream, it means
hearing bad words. Shaving half of one’s beard in a dream means losing one’s
source of income or loss of one’s dignity. Holding the beard of one’s uncle in a
dream means unjustly inheriting him. If a woman sees herself having a beard
like a man in a dream, it means that she will never beget children, unless if she
has a reddish beard as the natural color of her hair. However, for a man, to have
a reddish beard in a dream means trials and temptation and particularly if some

Garment
Wearing a good quality garment in a dream means prosperity in this
world and in the hereafter. Wearing a woolen garment in a dream means
renouncing the world and calling on people to do the same and to desire the
benefits of the hereafter. Wearing a green robe in a dream brings benefits and
no harm. If a living person sees himself or someone else wearing green in a
dream, it denotes his religious devotion. As for a deceased person, it means a
good state and acceptance before God Almighty. It is also said that wearing a
green garment in a dream means receiving an inheritance. Wearing a white
garment also means glad tidings. If a fabric merchant or a tailor sees himself
wearing a white garment in a dream, it means lack of work. Wearing a black
garment in a dream means a bad omen, but if one is used to wearing black
clothing, then it means honor, wealth and receiving a high ranking position.
Wearing a red garment in a dream means excess earnings that are not yet free
from due alms. Such a person then must immediately pay the proper share of
his earnings. A red garment in a dream means death, sickness and to a poor
person, it means increase in his difficulties. Wearing a red garment in a dream
can mean good only if the person wearing it is an unmarried woman. Otherwise,
wearing red during festivals or social gatherings in a dream has no meaning.
Wearing a yellow garment in a dream or any of its derivative colors in general
means ulcer or other internal festering illness. Wearing a silken garment in a
dream means loss and negligence of one’s religious life. Wearing a blue garment
in a dream means distress and difficulties. Wearing a patterned garment of
mixed colors in a dream means being reprimanded by one’s superior. It also
could represent a flower merchant. Wearing a double sided coat means duplicity
and affectation. A washed garment in a dream means poverty and indebtedness.
Wearing a brocaded garment in a dream means attending a pilgrimage. Oth¬
erwise, if the person qualifies, it means controlling interests in a farmland, or
it may represent a good harvest for that year. Wearing a garment which is
brilliant in colors for a man in a dream represents his pride and arrogance. If
one sees himself wearing a silken raiment and portraying a religious jurist in
a dream, it means that he is a seeker of worldly titles who may invent something
new. Announcing lost and found garments in a dream means attending a
pilgrimage to Mecca or a journey to an Arab country. A woman wearing a thin
garment in a dream represents her integrity, while if she is wearing a thick
garment, it represents her labor and hardships. If one sees himself putting on
a new garment after taking a ritual bath in a dream, it means prosperity or
repayment of his debts. If one’s new garment is torn and cannot be repaired in
the dream, it means inability to bear children. If the garment can be repaired
in the dream, it means that there is an evil spell over the person wearing it.
Wearing two torn garments in a dream means death. A torn garment in a dream
also means a shattered religious or spiritual life, or it could mean that one is
pursued by an evil person, or it could mean poverty or striving to satisfy one’s
basic material needs. If one is stripped of his clothing in a dream, it means loss
of his status. Destroying or wasting garments in a dream brings glad tidings,
unless if the person seeing the dream is incarcerated, or if he is a poor person,
or if he is in debt. If a man sees himself wearing a woman’s outfit in the dream,
and if in his consciousness he intended to act effeminately, it means that he will
face a calamity and carry a great burden. If he thinks in his dream that he is
a woman, then his humiliation will be greater. Receiving used garments but in
a good condition as a gift in a dream means money, though if they are in bad
condition, they mean trouble. A dog wearing a woolen cloak in a dream
represents a just ruler. If one sees a lion wearing a cotton or a linen cloak in a
dream, it represents a ruler who confiscates people’s properties and money.
Wearing linen cloak in a dream also means living a dignified life. Eating a clean
garment in a dream means receiving lawful earnings, and eating a dirty
garment in a dream means living from unlawful money. Burning one’s garment
in a dream means the end of his difficulties. Ironing off the creases of one’s
garment before wearing it in a dream means interest in beauty, glitters and
