In a dream, eavesdropping means backbiting and lies. Perhaps
the one who is eavesdropping on others may become despised by the ruler or his
superior. On the other hand, if one sees himself in a dream inadvertently
listening to a conversation, and if the one seeing the dream is a merchant, it
means that he will resign from the leadership of his business, and if he is a ruler,
it means that he will be removed from his post. If one sees himself harkening
to another person in a dream, it means that he desires to defame him or expose
his pitfalls. If one sees himself listening to some talks of which he follows the
better avenues in the dream, it means that he will receive glad tidings. If one
sees himself listening to admonition but ignoring it in a dream, it means that
he lies as a habit.

Bat
( zool .) By God’s leave, a bat was one of the many signs of God’s prophet Jesus
son of Marry, upon both of them be peace. In a dream, a bat may represent a
monk. It also means glad tidings for a pregnant woman. Seeing a bat in a dream
is not considered as a good omen for a traveller. If a bat flies into a house in a
dream, it means the demolition of that house or the separation of that family.
A bat in one’s dream also represents a witch, or an unjust person who may have
suffered from deprivation in his childhood. A bat in a dream also signifies
blindness, heedlessness, a child of adultery, or a bastard son. In a dream, a bat
also means hiding from people because of one’s evildoing, such as theft or
eavesdropping. Seeing a bat in a dream also means the end of enjoying blessings
and not acknowledging their true provider. A bat in one’s dream also means
having to change one’s living standards.

Thief
(Assassin; Illness; Robber) In a dream, a thief represents an illness,
deficiency in one’s character, or a physical ailment. If the thief is a black man,
it means that the illness relates to one’s black bile. If the color of his skin is red,
then it relates to one’s blood. If the color of his skin is yellow, then it relates to
his galls. If the color of his skin is white, then it relates to his chest and phlegm.
Whatever a thief takes in the dream should be interpreted in relation to the
substance of what he took. If he takes nothing from one’s house, then it denotes
a passing ailment. If one catches the thief, or holds to his shirt in the dream,
it means that he knows the cure. A thief in a dream also represents an assassin,
the angel of death, a visitor, or someone asking for marriage. If there is a sick
person in the house and a thief enters that house in a dream, it means the death
of the ailing person. If a thief comes to one’s house and takes nothing from it in
a dream, it means the recovery of sick person from his illness. A thief in a dream
also can be interpreted to represent a cunning person, a deceiver, an adulterer,
a hunter, a backbiter, someone who asks for things that do not belong to him,
a lion, a snake, a Satan, eavesdropping, or one’s mind, desire and passions. If
a scholar sees a thief in his dream, it means that he will learn wisdom from an

Tomcat
(Book of records; Cat; Reckoning; Siamese cat; Thief) In a dream, a tomcat
means a thief or a servant. A cat in a dream also represents an evil and a
treacherous woman. The same interpretation is given for anyone who compasses
people, or guards them, or someone who harms the interests of his employer
more than he benefits him. If a tomcat scratches someone or bites him in a
dream, it means that he will fall sick for a full year. The bite of a wildcat in a
dream is more dangerous and has greater implications. If one sees a tomcat
sitting peacefully and quietly in his house in a dream, it means that he will have
a comfortable, peaceful and a profitable year. Otherwise, a large wildcat in the
dream represents a troublesome year. Selling a tomcat in a dream means
spending one’s money in various charities. Eating a cat in a dream means
learning about sorcery. If one sees himself transformed into a tomcat in a dream,
it means that he lives from stealing and seeks what is harmful. A tomcat
entering one’s house in a dream represents a robber. Whatever a tomcat takes
from one’s house in the dream will be looted by such a thief. Killing or beating
a tomcat in a dream means catching a thief or killing him. If one extracts fat from
a cat in a dream, it means that he will receive stolen money or a share thereof.
Fighting with a tomcat in a dream means an affliction with a long and a
debilitating illness that will be followed by a complete recovery. If the tomcat
loses the fight, and if the man is already sick, it means that he will recover from
his illness shortly thereafter. Otherwise, if he loses in the dream, it means that
his illness has reached its peak. A cat or a tomcat in a dream also represent
reckoning, estrangement of one’s wife, her roughness with her husband, or they
could represent ill behaved children with their parents, fights, theft, adultery,
lack of loyalty, eavesdropping, taunting, roaring, clamor, a bastard son, a
foundling or an orphan. On the other hand, a cat in a dream could represent a
toadying person, dancing, being playful and kind, though awaiting to jump at
the first opportunity to spoil others’ peace. If the cat, the tomcat and the mouse,
or the lamb and the wolf become friends in the dream, it means hypocrisy,
affectation and loss of moral standards. A civet cat in a dream represents a man
who may have a suspicious look, though his character and conduct are exem¬

Glass
(Clarity; Perception; Wisdom; Woman) In a dream, glass represents an
early stage of a temporary anxiety, depression or stress. Such condition is less
serious when glass is seen collected as broken chips in a container in a dream.
Seeing through glass in a dream means uncovering something that is hidden.
In a dream, all glassware, stained glass, engraved glass, or decorative glass of
green, red or yellowish color represent a suspicious person, money earned from
a suspicious source or suspicion about one’s wife, or even suspicion about one’s
true children, or it could mean eavesdropping, affectation or hypocrisy. In a
dream, any glass by-products represent people of knowledge, scholars, gnostics,
sages or people of wisdom. Buying a glittering glass ornament, or a house made
of mother of pearl in a dream means choosing the pleasures of this world over
the everlasting joy of the hereafter, or it could mean disdaining to obey God’s
commands, or it could mean becoming an apostate. A drinking glass cup in a
dream represents a woman. Receiving a glass of water in a dream means that
one's wife is pregnant. An unknown kind of glass cup or a roughly cut drinking
glass of water in a dream means that there is a fetus in the mother’s womb. If
the glass of water breaks and the water remains in the dream, it means that the
mother may die after giving birth and the infant will survive. If the water spills
and the glass remains intact in the dream, it means that the fetus may die and
the mother will survive. The breaking of a glass in a dream also denotes the
death of the one who is serving it. If a sick person is given a glass of wine, or
water, or a bitter apple drink, or a laxative in a dream such a drink represents

Woodcutter
(Disposer of estates; Guardian) In a dream, a woodcutter represents
the person in charge of distributing one’s inheritance, since it is he who disposes
of the dead branches of a tree. In a dream, a woodcutter also represents an
agitator, winter profits, eavesdropping, gossip, burdens, or sins.

Medicine
(Drug; Inkwell) Taking medicine in a dream means correcting oneself,
or it could mean fulfilling one’s religious obligations. If one takes a medicine for
his illness in a dream, it means that he will correct his conduct. If it denotes
knowledge in the dream, it means that he will benefit from what he learns and
accepts the good advice. If one refuses to take his medicine in the dream, it
means that he will deviate from the path of his Lord and shift his interests to
his allotment or luck in this world. Medicine in a dream also denotes an inkwell.
Licking medicine with one’s index finger in a dream means proclaiming the
truth, or it could mean profits from the direction the index finger is pointing at
in the dream. Swallowing medicinal powder means greed, self-absorption,
reclusion and withdrawal. Taking liquid medicine orally means profits. Swal¬
lowing pills in a dream means obliging a sinner to correct himself, to repent,
or to go on the straight path. It also could mean caring to teach an ignorant
person. If a woman applies a medicinal make-up in a dream, it represents her
menstruation. As for an unwed girl, it means marriage, and for a barren
woman, it means a child. Inserting a suppository into the rectum in a dream
means spying or eavesdropping. To take a laxative in a dream means attempting
to correct one’s religious devotion, or it could mean washing one’s body from
impurities. The success of one’s attempt depends on the potency of his medi¬
cine. Seeking good health in a dream means trying to amend one’s life for the
better. The same meaning applies if one sees himself using an ointment for his
eyes. A yellow colored medicine in a dream means illness. A laxative in a dream
means a cure for a sick person and a warning for a healthy person to correct
himself. A bad tasting medicine in a dream means a fever followed by a chill.
Good tasting medicine in a dream is beneficial for rich people, though bad for
poor people. Interpreting a cure with a medicine in a dream is not like

Cat
A cat in a dream represents a book of records, one’s share from a business,
an inheritance, or his work. A cat in a dream also means shunning off one’s
husband, wife or children, or it could mean a fight, theft, adultery, disloyalty,
eavesdropping, backbiting or bearing a child from adultery, a bastard child, or
it could represent a gentle speaking person, a toadying person or someone who
desires to be accepted by others, and should he find an opportune moment, he
will spoil everyone’s peace. A cat in a dream also represents a banal woman who
likes herself. If a cat steels something from her master, it means that he may
pay a fine, have a fight with his relatives or children, and it could mean a
robbery. A wildcat in a dream means adversities, toiling and a wretched life.
Selling a cat in a dream means spending one’s money. The scratch of a cat in
a dream means that one will be betrayed by his servant. The bite of a cat in a
dream represents a hoaxer or a crooked woman. It is also said that a cat’s bite

Ladder
A wooden ladder in a dream means distress and toiling one may endure
during a journey. A ladder in a dream also represents peace and safety. Climbing
a ladder in a dream means receiving a warning or an admonition to do good and
eschew evil for someone who does not oblige. If one’s ladder turns into concrete
stairs in a dream, it means assiduity and veiling or protecting of one’s privacy.
A ladder laid on the floor in a dream means authority, while a raised ladder
means recovering from an illness. A ladder also represents travels, comfort to
a person who is struck by sorrows, or it could represent a great person. Climbing
a new ladder in a dream means reaching new spiritual attainments, or it could
represent his business success. Even climbing an old ladder in a dream means
success in one’s bushiness, exaltation and profits. Falling from a ladder in a
dream means adversities, spiritual fall and temptation. Climbing down a ladder
in a dream means business losses. If the ladder breaks in the middle of one’s
assent or descent in the dream, it means losing to one’s competition. If one fixes
a ladder to descend upon something he knows in a dream, it means safety from
danger, arrogance, fears, or escape from an accident that might cost him his life.
Climbing a ladder in a dream also means seeking the help of people who are
filled with hypocrisy. If one climbs a ladder to hear something in a dream, it
means that he will achieve success and attain power. A ladder in a dream also
means authority, eavesdropping, or spying for evil people.

Onion
Eating a raw onion in a dream denotes an evil happening. If a sick person
eats a small amount of onions in a dream, it means that he will die from his illness,
but if one sees himself eating a large quantity in his dream, it means that he will
be cured of his illness. However, eating a green onion, or a scallion in a dream
means prosperity and good health, though they will be accompanied with stress,
sadness or separation from one’s wife. Eating a strong smelling or a fragrant herb
in a dream means contempt, loathing on the part of some members of his family
toward him, or it could mean that hidden matters will finally surface. If such herbs
are the type of bulbs that require skinning before eating, then they denote
curiosity and eavesdropping, representing what is usually discarded. In a dream,
onions for a businessman represent the element of money, and for a traveller it
represents health, success and a safe return. Onions in a dream also mean distress
and difficulties. Gathering onions in the field in a dream means suffering from
harm caused by one’s own family.

of knowledge in a dream means receiving guidance, and it means turning
repentantly to God Almighty. Otherwise, if one sees himself listening to
backbiting, slandering, defamation, or eavesdropping in a dream, then it means
that some harm will befall him. Listening to good advice and following its best
guidance in a dream means receiving good news. Eavesdropping in a dream
means that one intends to defame the other person. Listening, though pretending
not to hear what is being said in a dream means that one makes it a habit to
lie. The sound of a crowd in a dream means money beside other benefits. The
bleating of sheep in a dream means distress and fear. The neighing of horses in
a dream means might and honor. The barking of a dog in a dream means vein
talk and meddling in people’s business. The sound of a lynx in a dream means
pampering oneself, or wantonness. The cooing of pigeons in a dream means
crying, sorrows or marriage. The chirp of swallows in a dream means beneficial
words. The croaking of frogs in a dream means beatings. The sound of bells and
the hissing of snakes in a dream means a fight, an argument, a warning, or a
war. The braying of donkeys in a dream means cursing in the darkness. The
braying of mules in a dream means vein talk, or indulging in suspicious acts.
The mooing of a cow in a dream means temptation. The gurgling of camels in
a dream means travels and difficulties. The roaring of a lion in a dream means
threats. The yowling of a tomcat in a dream means uproar, backbiting, defamation
and insinuation. The yapping of foxes in a dream means a warning to escape,
or to move from one field into another. The howling of a wolf in a dream means
a robbery. The squeak of a mouse in a dream means profits, reunion, love and
peace. The crying of a female gazelle in a dream means longing for one’s
homeland. The barking of a jackal in a dream means a mission of good intent,
