(Elevation) In a dream, a hill represents a powerful and a dangerous person.
Any construction surrounding such a hill represents one’s wealth. If one sees a
flat land adjacent to a discarded high ground or a hill in a dream, such a hill
represents a rich man whose wealth compares to the size of the surrounding
property. A valley of green pasture surrounding a hill in the dream represents
his strength, justice in method of dealing with others, or it could mean religious
devotion. Following that line of thoughts, it also means rising in rank at the
hand of a powerful person. Crossing hills in a dream means escaping from
danger. Standing on top of a hill in a dream means presiding over a religious
person. Descending a hill or an elevation in a dream represents losses, migraine
headache, or humiliation. Imprisonment on the top of a hill in a dream means
a high rankingjob. If the elevation is made of trash in a dream, it means worldly

Cloud of smoke
(Adversities; Fight; Pollution) In a dream, seeing a cloud of heavy
smoke over a town represents a calamity from God Almighty or a harsh
punishment of a ruler. However, if one sees smoke coming out of his house in
a dream, it means that he will be defamed, or that he will be struck by a severe
illness, an injury or a fever that will result from his work or place of business.
He will then recuperate from his illness, regain the upper hand and turn things
around. If the smoke is caused by a fire or rises to spread from under a cooking
pot in a dream, it means joy after distress and prosperity after poverty. If the
smoke has no burning odor in the dream, it means an atrocity or an ugly
experience which will be followed by exposure and defamation. If one sees
himself shaded under a cloud of smoke in a dream, it means that he will suffer
from a high fever. If one suffers from the heat of smoke in a dream, it means
difficulties and distress. If one sees clouds of smoke gathering over the hills in
a dream, it means that a great scare will befall the people of that locality. If the
smoke is not caused by a fire in the dream, it represents the stationing of an
army though no war will take place. However, the impact of such fear will have
its effects on everyone. If the smoke causes harm to the people and affect their
sights or limits their vision in the dream, it means injustice, depression,
adversities, pain and suffering from a divine punishment for people’s sins.

will be followed by destruction as a consequence of people’s sins. Entering a well
fortified village in a dream means fighting with someone. Crossing a village into
a city in a dream means changing a menial job into a more respectable one, or
perhaps it could mean downgrading a good deed one has performed, thinking
of it as unimportant, or regretting it, or it could mean doing something good and
thinking of it as evil, or perhaps it could mean showing indecisiveness and
doubt. Entering a village in a dream also means governing it, or presiding over
its people, or it could mean commencing a new job. Walking out of a village in
a dream means escaping from evil. Seeing a destroyed village in a dream means
heedlessness or a calamity caused by the sins of its dwellers. Seeing a well-built
village in a dream shows the piety and righteousness of its people. Seeing
ancient edifices or ruins inhabited again in a dream represents people’s repentance
from sin. A village in a dream also could signify injustice, innovations, corruption,
disregarding the divine laws, or discarding the moral standards set by the
community. A village in a dream also could represent ants’ underground nest
or colony, while an anthill in a dream represents a village. If a village is

Ascending in the skies
(Climbing; Rising) To see oneself ascending in the skies
in a dream means falling in rank, or it could mean oppressing oneself. If one sees
himself ascending in the skies until he reaches the stars, merges with them and
if he becomes a star in the dream, it means that he will receive titles and powers.
If one sees himself ascending a mountain it means depression, stress and
travels. However, rising in a dream means elevation of status, and descending
means a backslide. If one sees himself walking up a steep road in a dream, it
means rising in status, but involving toiling and hardships. If one sees himself
climbing a mountain, then the mountain in a dream is interpreted as one’s goal.
Thus, one’s dream may mean attaining one’s goal as far as he reaches in his
climb. In dream interpretation, any ascent of a mountain, a trail, a hill, an
elevation or even climbing a roof means attaining one’s goal or satisfying one’s
needs. To see oneself climbing flat on his back in a dream then means uncalled

Stairway
(Conveyor; Steps; Travels) In a dream, stairways represent the vehicle
of rising in station, advancement in worldly gains, seeking the blessings of the
hereafter, and the rising of one’s station in the hereafter. A stairway in a dream
also could represent the days of one’s life and their term. If one sees a staircase
which he recognizes in the dream, it could represent the servant of a house, its
owner, or its accountant. If a sick person sees himself climbing an unknown
staircase which is leading him to the upper room from where he can see paradise
in the dream, it means that he may die from his illness and reach what he saw.
If obstacles hinder his way or impede his climb in the dream, it means that he
is detained, and the immediate blessings of such a gift will be veiled to him.
Descending a staircase in a dream means arriving from a journey, resigning
from one’s job, impeachment, or it could represent a pedestrian. If one’s descent
leads him to his family, house, or farmland in the dream, it means money. If
what he reaches at the end of the staircase is unknown, and if one meets people,
or souls he does not recognize in the dream, it also denotes what we have earlier
explained. If during one’s climb or descent he falls into a well, or if a giant bird
grabs him and flies away with him, or if a beast devours him, or if he steps into
a boat that sails away as he steps into it, or if he takes a step to find himself
riding an animal, or a vehicle of some type, the staircase then represents the
stages of one’s life and what he encountered during the journey of his life,
all replayed or screened before his eyes at the point of descending into his grave,
or as a book one reads after his death. If he does wake up and finds himself
healthy and fit, it means that he will become a tyrant, an unjust person, an
atheist and a reprobate. If one sees himself descending a staircase that leads
him into a mosque, lush foliage, green fields, a fresh breeze of spring, or into a
pond to take a ritual ablution to perform his prayers in the dream, it means that
he will become a true believer, repent for his his sins and abandon his
blameworthy conduct. Otherwise, if he descends upon adverse elements such as
snakes, lions, steep hills, corpses, or a field of scattered remains in a dream, then
it represents major trials and adversities. If the steps are made of clay in one’s
dream, they indicate positive signs. However, a stairway could be regarded as
unfavorable if its steps are made of backed bricks. If they are made of stones in
the dream, they mean business success, along with a heart like a stone. If the
staircase is made of wooden steps in the dream, it means reaching a high rank
which is compounded with hypocrisy. If they are made of gold in the dream, then
they mean achieving success and gaining authority. If they are made of silver
in the dream, they represent one’s entourage and attendants. Climbing a
staircase in a dream also means sharpening one’s intellect and awareness. In
a dream, a stairway is also interpreted to mean leading a life of ascetic
detachment and devotion. Coming near a staircase in a dream also means
attaining success and a growing piety. Each step represents a different station.
Climbing a staircase in a dream also represents the dangers one may have to
cross. Seeing a staircase with five steps in a dream represents the five time
prayers, or the pulpit where the Imam stands to deliver his Friday sermon. That
is why some interpreters qualify the staircase in one’s dream as glad tidings,

Descending
(Declivity) Descending a mountain, a hill or an elevation in a dream
represents losses, migraine headache, humiliation, passing from a higher to a
lower condition, separation between husband and wife, losing one’s job, demo¬
tion, degradation, abandoning one’s religion, or it could mean adversities in
general. Descending a steep slope in a dream also means safe landing, worldly
blessings and nomination for a religious duty. Descending from a mountain in
a dream means relief from adversities or change in one’s conditions. Coming
down from an old ladder in a dream means investing in a business to earn
nothing from one’s efforts. If the ladder breaks half-way through in the dream,
it means losing to one’s adversary.

(Drug; Inkwell) Taking medicine in a dream means correcting oneself,
or it could mean fulfilling one’s religious obligations. If one takes a medicine for
his illness in a dream, it means that he will correct his conduct. If it denotes
knowledge in the dream, it means that he will benefit from what he learns and
accepts the good advice. If one refuses to take his medicine in the dream, it
means that he will deviate from the path of his Lord and shift his interests to
his allotment or luck in this world. Medicine in a dream also denotes an inkwell.
Licking medicine with one’s index finger in a dream means proclaiming the
truth, or it could mean profits from the direction the index finger is pointing at
in the dream. Swallowing medicinal powder means greed, self-absorption,
reclusion and withdrawal. Taking liquid medicine orally means profits. Swal¬
lowing pills in a dream means obliging a sinner to correct himself, to repent,
or to go on the straight path. It also could mean caring to teach an ignorant
person. If a woman applies a medicinal make-up in a dream, it represents her
menstruation. As for an unwed girl, it means marriage, and for a barren
woman, it means a child. Inserting a suppository into the rectum in a dream
means spying or eavesdropping. To take a laxative in a dream means attempting
to correct one’s religious devotion, or it could mean washing one’s body from
impurities. The success of one’s attempt depends on the potency of his medi¬
cine. Seeking good health in a dream means trying to amend one’s life for the
better. The same meaning applies if one sees himself using an ointment for his
eyes. A yellow colored medicine in a dream means illness. A laxative in a dream
means a cure for a sick person and a warning for a healthy person to correct
himself. A bad tasting medicine in a dream means a fever followed by a chill.
Good tasting medicine in a dream is beneficial for rich people, though bad for
poor people. Interpreting a cure with a medicine in a dream is not like

Dancing alone in one’s house in a dream signifies joy and satisfaction. If a sick
person sees himself dancing in a dream, it denotes his anxiety. If one is pulled
to a dancing circle in a dream, it means that he will be saved from tribulation
or be declared innocent from false allegations. If a child is seen dancing in a
dream, then it means that he may lose his speech or become dumb, because when
a child dances, he mostly moves his hands to express himself. If a prisoner sees
himself dancing in a dream, it means that he will be set free. Dancing on top of
a table, a raised stage or on top of a hill in a dream means a scare. Dancing inside
one’s house, surrounded with one’s family members with no outsiders in a dream
means joy and celebration. If a sick person sees himself dancing in a dream, it
