worldly attachments, witnessing Divine blessings and spiritual favors, rising in
station, hearing good words, or it could mean imprisonment, rain, a gift, an
offering, or a charity.

Ritual bath
(Ablution; Ghusul: Ritual ablution; Wash) A ritual bath ( arb. Ghusul.
Islamic Law) is customarily performed on a festival day, or before the Friday
congregational prayers, before starting a pilgrimage, after recovering from an
illness, or is necessitated by the emission of sperms either during one’s sleep or
following a marital intercourse. A ritual ablution is also given to a deceased
person before his funeral and burial, or otherwise is taken by the undertaker
himself after washing the dead. To take a ritual ablution in a dream before the
Friday congregational prayers means purifying oneself, washing oneself from
sin, repenting from sin, serving one’s parents, or being true to one’s friends.
Taking a ritual ablution for any of the above reason during the wintertime and
using cold water in the dream means distress, trouble or a sickness. If hot water
is used, then it means profits, benefits and recovering from sickness. Taking a
ritual ablution in a dream before attending a festival means getting married.
Taking a ritual ablution after seeing either a solar or a lunar eclipses in a dream
means an adversity, and the same applies if one takes a ritual ablution in a
dream before the prayers of asking for rain. To take a ritual ablution after
washing a deceased person in a dream means abandoning one’s association with
heedless people. If the person who performs such an ablution is mentally
deranged, it means that he will wake-up cured from his condition. Taking a
ritual ablution prior to joining the sacred pilgrimage in a dream means
happiness, success, victory over one’s enemy, paying one’s debts, or reuniting
with one’s beloveds. Taking a ritual ablution before circumambulating the
sacred House in Mecca in a dream means working for one’s livelihood, serving
rich people, or caring for one’s wife and parents. If a sick person sees himself
taking a ritual ablution then putting on a new garment in a dream, it means that
he will soon recover from his illness. Taking a ritual ablution in a dream also
could mean the release of a prisoner, payment of one's debts, dispelling one’s
distress, or it could mean richness, prosperity, attending the sacred pilgrimage
in Mecca, or having a successful business. If one does not put a new garment
after taking his ritual ablution in the dream, it means that he will be able to
lighten his burdens, or recover his good health. Walking into a pond, or
descending a well, or stepping into a bathtub to take a bath in a dream means
marriage. Washing oneself with soap during such an ablution means dispensing
of one’s debts, or dispelling one’s stress. Washing one’s garment after taking a
Ghusul in a dream means correcting one’s conduct, pursuing the correct
religious life, paying one’s debts, or washing away one’s filth. If one sees a
deceased person washing himself before his burial in a dream, it means relief
for one’s dependents and increase of their wealth after him. Giving a ritual
ablution to a deceased person in a dream also means that someone will repent
for his sins at the hand of the undertaker. If a deceased person asks someone
to wash his clothes for him in a dream, it means that he needs someone to pray
for him, or to intercede on his behalf before his Lord, or to pay charity for the
benefit of his soul, or to pay his debts, or to fulfill his will, or to do him justice.
If one does fulfills the deceased person’s wish and washes his clothes for him in

Sexual intercourse
(Adultery; Coitus; Fornication; Hugging; Instinct; Lesbian;
Molesting; Sexual drive; Sleeping together, Sodomy; Tribadism) If a man sees
himself having sexual intercourse with another man in a dream, it means that
both of them have lost their moral dedication, that have become aimless, turned
stingy toward their own dependents and generous toward others. It also means
loss of one’s capital, or divorcing one’s wife. If a poor person sees such a dream,
it means that he will fall sick, or attract an incurable disease. To have sexual
intercourse with a male in a dream also means falling into sin, committing the
unlawful, or engaging in sexual intercourse with a female member of one’s own
family, a blood relation, or a consanguineous person whom one is forbidden to
marry. Molesting a child in a dream means suffering from a great affliction.
Fornication with a young servant in a dream means suffering from continuous
stress and a lasting depression. Sleeping with a beautiful woman one recognizes
in his dream means profits. Sleeping with an ugly looking old woman in a dream
means the opposite. Having sexual intercourse with an unknown woman in a
dream represents the type of interactions and dealings one fosters with people
in general. Accordingly, and depending on the condition of the woman one is
sleeping with in a dream, one’s actions will substantiate. Sleeping with someone’s
wife in a dream means engaging in a profitable business with the husband. If
a sick person sees himself having sexual intercourse with his mother in a dream,
it means his death, for the mother here represent the earth. If a woman sees
herself engaging in tribadism, or a lesbian relationship with another woman she
knows in a dream, it means that she will confide her personal life to her, or
divulge all her secrets, become her intimate friend or a fan, shares opinions with
her and emulate her actions and look in public. If she does not know that woman
in the dream, it means that she will indulge in sin. If a married woman sees
herself engaging in tribadism with another woman in a dream, it means that
she will separate from her husband or become a widow. Engaging in sexual
intercourse with a deceased person, be it a man or a woman in a dream means
one’s own death, unless if one is travelling, then it could mean visiting that
country where the deceased person is buried. Any sexual intercourse in a dream
that culminates in ejecting semen and necessitates a complete ritual ablution
in wakefulness represents disturbed dreams, or engaging in a forbidden sexual
intercourse from the anus, or it could represent wet dreams. Having sexual
intercourse in a dream also signifies paying one’s debts, or it could mean relief
from pressures. Having sexual intercourse with a prostitute in a dream means
love for the world, or it could mean profits. Having sexual intercourse with one’s
wife in a dream means success in one’s trade. Having sexual intercourse with
a heavenly woman in a dream means religious and spiritual attainment. (Also

Impurity
(arb. Junub. A state of ritual impurity that inhibits performance of one’s
prayers. Feces; Semen; Urine) In a dream, to be in a state of ritual impurity
means that one is avoiding to comply with fundamental religious obligations.
According to Islamic traditions, one must have ablution even if when pursuing
any of his daily interests. If one sees himself performing his prayers without the
required ritual ablution in a dream, it means corruption in his religious
practices, though it also could be interpreted as committing oneself to serve
God’s religion. Being in a state of ritual impurity in a dream also could mean
confusion. If one sees himself in such a state and finds no water to perform his
ablution in the dream, it means adversities and inability to sustain one’s needs
in this world, or to satisfy one’s aspirations in the hereafter. Washing oneself
or washing one’s clothes of impurity in a dream means paying someone his due
rights.

Tayammum
(arb.) Performing one’s ritual ablution but without water in a dream
means the nearing solutions of one’s problems. Tayammum is usually performed
instead of the regular ablution in the absence of water, or because of a
preventing illness, etcetera. However, observing the religious rites and substance
of the act remains solemn. Tayammum in a dream also may mean a journey, or
an illness. If the act is performed with a dry surface such as wood, stone, dry
sand, earth, or a substance that does not stick to the skin in a dream, it means
that one’s travel plans may be infeasible, or it could mean that he will become
cheep, or pursue his evil desires. To perform tayammum while water is
accessible in a dream means falsehood and hypocrisy. It also means hoping for
forgiveness while adamantly pursuing the avenues of wrongdoing, giving
preference to one’s interests in the world over his lasting benefits in the
hereafter, preferring masturbation over lawful sexual intercourse, or being a
hypocrite, and it could mean recovering from a terminal illness, or release from

Pond
(Brookk; Pool; Washing basin) In a dream, a pond represents a noble,
generous, magnanimous, dominant and a beneficial person. If the pond is filled
with water in the dream, it represents a generous and a well respected person.
If one takes his ritual ablution from it in the dream, it means that he will escape
from danger by God’s leave, and if he drinks from its water, it means that he
will receive a financial gift from a person in authority. Reaching a pond in a
dream means walking into adversities, betrayal and perfidy.

Rain
(Clouds; Drizzling; Life; Vapor; Water) If no harm or destruction is caused
by a rainstorm in a dream, then it means blessings, profits and mercy. Rain in
a dream also represents life, an earthly being, or fulfillment of a promise. If the
rain falls exclusively on a particular location in a dream, it means sorrow and
distress for its dwellers, or it could mean the loss of a beloved. If one sees rain
falling exclusively over his house in a dream, it means personal blessings.
Otherwise, it he sees it falling over the whole town in the dream, it means
blessings for everyone. Rain falling exclusively over one’s house in a dream also
means that someone will fall sick in that house, or suffer from a debilitating and
excruciating pain. If the skies rain stones or blood in a dream, it means
calamities and punishment for people’s sins. If it rains dust or sand in a dream,
it represents an unjust ruler in that locality. If the skies rain dirt without dust,
it also means prosperity and a good harvest. If a traveller sees rain in a dream,
it means hindrances along his journey. A destructive rainstorm in a dream
denotes dishonesty, cheating with measures, or the spread of sodomy in the
community. Seeing a destructive rainstorm tearing down structures, destroying
homes and pulling down tress in a dream represents a punishment for the
corruption and sins of the dwellers of that place. A good rain in a dream could
mean reconciliation with one’s enemy, or it could mean helping a needy person.
Rain in a dream also represents a caravan of camels, and a caravan of camels
in a dream represents rain. A good rain in a dream also means prosperity,
happiness, refilling wells with rainwater, the gushing forth of springs with
sweet, fresh and pure waters. Rain in a dream also means reviving an old and
a stagnant matter, or it could mean benefits, profits, blessings, relief from
distress, payment of debts, or feeling relief. In a dream, a good rain means
blessings, a good harvest and profits for a farmer. If the skies rain honey, butter,
oil, or food people like in the dream, it means blessings for everyone. Rain in a
dream also represent mercy from God Almighty, a helping hand, knowledge,
wisdom, the Quran, rejuvenation, revival, resurrection and life. If one sees
himself standing under a cover, a roof, or behind a wall to take shelter from a
rainfall in a dream, it means that he may suffer because of someone slandering
him. If the rain falls in season in one’s dream, it means roadblock barring
travels, business losses, inability to get medicine for a sick person because of
one’s poverty, or it could mean imprisonment. If one washes himself in the rain,
or takes a ritual ablution to perform his prayers, or washes his face with it, or
washes away filth in a dream, it means repentance from sin, receiving spiritual
guidance, or abolishing religious innovations and polytheism from one’s heart.
If he is poor, it means that God Almighty will enrich him and satisfy his needs,
or if he needed something from a ruler or a governor, it means that his request
will be answered favorably. Drinking from rainwater and if it is clear and pure
in the dream, it means receiving blessings and benefits. If the water is dirty and

Stairway
(Conveyor; Steps; Travels) In a dream, stairways represent the vehicle
of rising in station, advancement in worldly gains, seeking the blessings of the
hereafter, and the rising of one’s station in the hereafter. A stairway in a dream
also could represent the days of one’s life and their term. If one sees a staircase
which he recognizes in the dream, it could represent the servant of a house, its
owner, or its accountant. If a sick person sees himself climbing an unknown
staircase which is leading him to the upper room from where he can see paradise
in the dream, it means that he may die from his illness and reach what he saw.
If obstacles hinder his way or impede his climb in the dream, it means that he
is detained, and the immediate blessings of such a gift will be veiled to him.
Descending a staircase in a dream means arriving from a journey, resigning
from one’s job, impeachment, or it could represent a pedestrian. If one’s descent
leads him to his family, house, or farmland in the dream, it means money. If
what he reaches at the end of the staircase is unknown, and if one meets people,
or souls he does not recognize in the dream, it also denotes what we have earlier
explained. If during one’s climb or descent he falls into a well, or if a giant bird
grabs him and flies away with him, or if a beast devours him, or if he steps into
a boat that sails away as he steps into it, or if he takes a step to find himself
riding an animal, or a vehicle of some type, the staircase then represents the
stages of one’s life and what he encountered during the journey of his life,
all replayed or screened before his eyes at the point of descending into his grave,
or as a book one reads after his death. If he does wake up and finds himself
healthy and fit, it means that he will become a tyrant, an unjust person, an
atheist and a reprobate. If one sees himself descending a staircase that leads
him into a mosque, lush foliage, green fields, a fresh breeze of spring, or into a
pond to take a ritual ablution to perform his prayers in the dream, it means that
he will become a true believer, repent for his his sins and abandon his
blameworthy conduct. Otherwise, if he descends upon adverse elements such as
snakes, lions, steep hills, corpses, or a field of scattered remains in a dream, then
it represents major trials and adversities. If the steps are made of clay in one’s
dream, they indicate positive signs. However, a stairway could be regarded as
unfavorable if its steps are made of backed bricks. If they are made of stones in
the dream, they mean business success, along with a heart like a stone. If the
staircase is made of wooden steps in the dream, it means reaching a high rank
which is compounded with hypocrisy. If they are made of gold in the dream, then
they mean achieving success and gaining authority. If they are made of silver
in the dream, they represent one’s entourage and attendants. Climbing a
staircase in a dream also means sharpening one’s intellect and awareness. In
a dream, a stairway is also interpreted to mean leading a life of ascetic
detachment and devotion. Coming near a staircase in a dream also means
attaining success and a growing piety. Each step represents a different station.
Climbing a staircase in a dream also represents the dangers one may have to
cross. Seeing a staircase with five steps in a dream represents the five time
prayers, or the pulpit where the Imam stands to deliver his Friday sermon. That
is why some interpreters qualify the staircase in one’s dream as glad tidings,
good news, prayers, charity, alms giving, fasting, or a pilgrimage. God knows

one’s menstrual period in a dream means that one has committed a wrongdoing,
or it could mean confusion. If a woman sees herself taking a ritual ablution
thereafter in the dream, it means that she will repent for his sin and her
adversities will be dispelled. If an aged woman sees herself experiencing that
in the dream, it means that she will bear a son. If a widow or an unmarried
woman experiences her menstrual period in a dream, it means that she will get
married. If a man sees himself experiencing women’s menstrual period in a
dream, it means that he will commit an unlawful act, or that he lies. If he sees
his wife in her period in the dream, it means that she will close herself to him,

(Lavatory) In a dream, a toilet means relief from distress, satisfying one’s
innate needs, a bathhouse, taking a ritual ablution, a place where one’s secrets
are exposed, a place where one hides his money, a treasury, a coffer, a rest room,
or a place to reflect. Washing the toilet’s floor in a dream means becoming poor.
A flooded toilet in a dream means distress, pregnancy, or prosperity. To fall into
a toilet in a dream means imprisonment. Pouring honey or milk into the toilet
bowl, or urinating blood in a dream means sodomizing. Looking into the toilet
bowl and findingblood in it in a dream implies that one engages in the forbidden
sexual intercourse with his wife during her menstrual period. A toilet in a dream

Fountain
In a dream, a fountain placed in a suitable place or as a decorative item
in the middle of a yard or a park represents honor, dignity, dispelling worries
or adversities, hearing good news or listening to good music, squandering
money, dispersal of one’s interests, breaking a gathering, or adding and sub¬
tracting if seen near an accountant. A fountain in a dream also means avoiding
evil actions. If one is told that such a fountain is a blessed one in the dream, it
means the opposite, and should one wash himself with its water or drink from
it in a dream, it means depression and trouble. A fountain in a dream also could
represent a beautiful, rich and a noble woman. If no water is coming from the
fountainhead in the dream, then it represents a poor woman or a barren woman.

Fountainhead: A fountainhead in a dream represents blessings, grace, bounty and
attaining one’s goal. If one sees many springs gushing forth inside his own house
in a dream, and if he is not a discrete person, it represents a calamity that will
bringhim and his family to their knees with sorrow and tears. If one sees himself
taking a ritual ablution for prayers from a fountainhead in a dream, it means
that he will receive lawful money. Discovering a fountainhead in a dream means
prosperity. If the spring gushes forth inside one’s house or from the walls of one’s
house in the dream, then it means a calamity or a misfortune that will be caused
by a woman, a brother or a brother in-law. If the water flows into the street in
a dream, it means that such a calamity or adversity will leave that house and
peace will finally prevail. If the water is pure and clean in the dream, it means
depression along with a strong and a healthy body. What is disliked in such
dreams is the murky water. If one owns a stream in a dream, it represents one’s
livelihood, his shop, business, work, or one’s good deeds that remain beneficial
even after his death and until the Day of Judgment such as a blessed progeny,
a school or a mosque he builds, a road he opens, a book of knowledge he leaves

and flooding one’s property means sadness, crying and sorrow and the same
applies if one drinks from that water in his dream. If one sees several springs
gushing forth in a dream, it means prospering through dirty actions and

people and particularly for the sick and the needy. A dried well in a dream means
the opposite. If one who is suffering from depression sees a spring in his dream,
it means relief from his difficulties, repayment of his debts, recovering from his
illness, or repentance from his sins. A spring of sweet water in a dream also
means collecting one’s profits or rents. If one sees a rivulet carrying pure and
sweet water to his house in a dream, it means profits, easy life and blessings that

River
In a dream, a river represents a noble and a great person. Walking into a
river in a dream means befriending or encountering such a person. Drinking
from a river in a dream means trials, but if the water is clear, it means enjoying
prosperity and a happy life. Jumping from one bank of a river to the other in a
dream means escaping from adversities, dispelling distress or anguish, and it
means winning victory over one’s enemy. In a dream, a river also denotes
travels. Swimming in a river in a dream means working in the government. If
the river runs through the streets and markets, and if one sees people bathing
in it or taking their ritual ablution in it in one way or another it in a dream, such
a river then represents the justice of a ruler. If the river floods the streets, or
runs through people’s homes and damages their properties and personal
belongings in the dream, then the river represents an unjust ruler, or it could
represent an invading army. If a river flows from one’s house and causes no
harm to anyone in a dream, it represents one’s good intentions or deeds. If one
becomes a river in a dream, it means his death. Murky waters in a dream signify
worries and fearing a great man. Crossing from one side of a river into another
in a dream means dispelling one’s fears or worries. It also could mean severing
one’s association with such a man only to meet with another one. Jumping from
the middle of a river to the riverbank in a dream means escaping from the wrath
of a ruler. Losing something in a river means suffering harm and damages from
a ruler. A river flowing inside one’s house in a dream means prosperity. If one
sees people drinking from it in the dream, it denotes his generosity and sharing
of his wealth with needy people, or it could mean imparting knowledge to others.
If a poor person sees a river flowing inside his house in a dream, it means that
he will drive a member of his household out of his house because of an
abominable and a sinful act, or adultery. A river in a dream also means a good
deed or a regular income. A river with murky and putrid waters in a dream
represents hell-fire. Seeing one of the heavenly rivers of paradise in a dream
means prosperity. The heavenly river of milk in a dream represents God’s gift
of the innate knowledge and criterion which is given to His creation, and it
represents submission to His sovereignty and obedience to His commands.
Seeing the heavenly river of non-intoxicating wine in a dream means elation and
intoxication from one’s love for God Almighty. Seeing the heavenly river of
honey in a dream means knowledge or the Holy Quran. Drinking from Egypt’s

In a dream, a spool means keeping one’s secrets, or it could represent a
gracious man, or a trustworthy person who lends his help to others and benefits
them in their worldly affairs. If one sees himself carrying a spool while taking
his ritual ablution in a dream, it means that he will seek the help of a righteous
believer who holds fast to the rope of God Almighty. In that sense, a spool
represents the element of religious life and the rope in a dream signifies religion,
which is one’s connection to his Lord. Carrying a spool when performing one’s
ablution in a dream means that one will be permanently cured from ills and
become free from debts. A spool in a dream also means an active servant, or a
