Khimar
(A piece of fabric worn by some women as part of their headdress; To
conceal one’s face; Attire; Cap; Garb; Mantle; Mantilla; Veil) In a dream, a
khimar represents a husband, protection or an ornament. The extent of its size
shows the man’s prosperity. Its finesse connotes clarity and the color white
represents honor and dignity. If a woman sees herself wearing a mantilla in a
dream, it means maliciousness, a bad omen, or rancor and falsehood of female
companions that might cause difficulties, or separate between a husband and
a wife. If the khimar is made of black torn fabric in the dream, it means poverty
of one’s husband, or his being natural, or unsophisticated. Damage to one’s veil
in a dream means difficulties affecting one’s marriage, loss of business or a
calamity caused by a guardian, a father or a brother. If a man sees himself
wearing a mask in a dream, it means that he will commit adultery with his
servant. If a woman sees herself removing her veil in public in a dream, it means
that she will be tried with a calamity that will take away her sense of shame.
If she loses her khimar in the dream, it means that she may lose her husband.
If she finds it again in the dream, it means that her husband will return to her.

a dream represents one's beauty, son, power, honor, wealth, leadership or the
point of prostration in one's prayers. A wide forehead in a dream means
prosperity, while a narrow forehead means tightness. The eyebrows represent
one's protection or spiritual guardianship. As for the human nose in a dream,
it represents honor, longevity and respect. Whatever comes out of one's nose in
a dream is good and whatever goes into it in a dream may not be beneficial. A
bleeding nose in a dream means receiving or giving money. If one's nose is cut
off in a dream, it means circumcision, falling in rank, or it could mean his death.
Inhaling water and clearing one's nose in a dream represents someone who
deceives his wife. If a bird or an animal comes out of one's nose in a dream, it
means that a cattle, a pet, or a domesticated animal will give birth to its babies
in such a house. A large nose in a dream represents honor and respect. Smelling
a nice fragrance in a dream means begetting a son, or it could mean relief from
difficulties. One's face in a dream represents his happiness or his sorrow.
Seeing the forehead and the face in a dream means money, honor and a beautiful
woman. The earlock and the temples represent two noble and blessed daughters. A bright face in a dream means glad tidings, while a yellowish face in a
dream means bad news or miseries. Frowning in a dream means a misfortune.
If a woman sees herself frowning in a dream, it means the death of her husband.
The two lips in a dream represent one's helpers. The lower lip is stronger in
meaning than the upper lip. It is also said that lips in a dream represent one's
relatives. The upper lip represents the male relatives and the lower lip represents
the female relatives. Sealed lips in a dream mean difficulties or adversities. The
mouth in a dream represents a key, one's livelihood, the conclusion of one's life,
death, illness, strength, a coffer, a marketplace, a door attendant, a chief
minister, or a door. If one's mouth is sealed in a dream, it means a scandal. One's
tongue in a dream represents his or her translator. A long tongued person in
a dream may mean winning an argument, or it could mean innocence from
allegation. An elongated tongue of a judge in a dream means clarity and justice.
A tied-up tongue in a dream means poverty, sickness, depression, a calamity,
or it could represent an unworthy person. Having two tongues in a dream means
praiseworthiness and acquiring two types of knowledge. Seeing what is inside
one's mouth in a dream means exposing one's ills. Biting on one's tongue in a
dream means regret. Watching one's tongue in a dream means protecting
oneself from pitfalls. Carrying one's tongue by hand in a dream means receiving indemnity for bodily injury or receiving blood money. If one sees his throat
blocked in such a way that he could not speak in a dream, it denotes his
stinginess toward his own family. Ifone sees one of his limbs speaking against
him in a dream, it means that someone will report him to the authorities or
become a witness against him in court. If one sees himself in a dream riding over
the shoulders of his enemy, it means that he will commit a wrongdoing or a
shameful act. If there is no enmity between them, and if he sees himself riding
over the shoulders of a friend in a dream, it means earning something from him.
Carrying something over one's shoulders in a dream means debts. If one sees
himself carrying a hypocrite over his shoulders in a dream, it means that he may
work in a lumberyard or carry wood to earn a living. One's shoulders in a dream
also represent his parents, brothers, partners, station, or beauty. Anything that
affects them in a dream will manifest in any of the above. In a dream, one's neck
represents an embrace, a donation with terms, a legal will, or a conditional
endowment. The neck and the shoulders in a dream represent one's trust or
trustworthiness. A healthy and strong neck in a dream means trustworthiness
and ability to meet one's obligations. Wounds, festering or purulence in one's
neck in a dream mean betraying God's trust. If one sees a nice bird sitting over
his neck in a dream it means benefits or an alibi. If it is not a gentle bird, then
it becomes a bad omen, or a rebuke. If one sees a necklace, a rope, a wire, or a
thread around his neck in a dream, it means fulfilling one's promise, acquiring
knowledge and honor. A long neck in a dream could mean four things, that is:
justice, leadership, attainment of one's goals or calling people to prayers. The
left hand represents one's helper, friend, savings, or a compassionate relative.
Longhands in a dream represent a charitable person, or a capable one, and short
hands mean the opposite. Long hands also could mean longevity, wealth,
helpers, borrowing money, governing, fulfilling one's commands, profits from
one's business or having business sense. If one's hand is cut off in a dream, it
means the death of his brother, his father, his partner, or a close friend or his
assistant. If the right hand is cut off in a dream, it means a vow one takes to
deprive someone from his rights. It also means loss of one's job or cutting off one's
blood ties, or it could mean that he has committed a theft. If a righteous person
sees his hand cut off in a dream, it means abstaining from wrongdoing or
eschewing evil. If one's left hand is cut off in a dream, it means reestablishing
his relationship with his family and rediscovering the benefits of good qualities.
If one's hand is broken in a dream, it means an adversity, illness, loss of
business, or loss of a dear person. The cracking skin of one's hands in a dream
means loss of wealth. Stretched hands in a dream means ill caused by a close
friend. Stretching one's hands in a dream also could mean generosity. If one's
hands are cut off without causing him any pain in a dream, it means that he may
fall in love. If one sees his hands joined together in a dream, it means having
a family reunion, or a wedding. If one's hands are trembling in a dream, it means
weakness, illness, old age or longevity. If one's hands feel dry in a dream" it
means that such a person does little good in his life. If one enters his hand under
his arm's pit in a dream, then brings it out bright and radiant in a dream, it
means that he will acquire knowledge and may develop wisdom. Otherwise, it
could mean profits. If he brings forth his hand from under his arm's pit in the
dream, and if it reveal a flame in his dream, it represents a manifestation of
divine power and a blessed victory. If one pulls his hand from under his arm's
pit and it brings forth water in the dream, it means that he will receive great
benefits and growth in his life, or perhaps that a long awaited traveller will
shortly arrive to his doorsteps. If a right-handed person sees himself being left-
handed in a dream, it means hardships. If one sees himself walking with his
hands in a dream, it represents his dependence on a relative to provide for his
needs. If one's hands say something nice to him in a dream, it means financial comfort. If one's hand is cut-off in a dream as punishment for a sin, it could mean
marriage, a bad wife, or lack of trustworthiness. If one washes his hands with
soap in a dream, it means that he will abandon something he initiated, or that
his intention will not be fulfilled. If a form of life or a good spirit comes out from
one's hands in a dream, it indicates benefits. If such a life is a malignant one,
then it means the opposite. If one takes someone by the hand in a dream, it
means that he will help him and save his life. If something sprouts in one's hands
or if one's hands turn into iron, or a vegetable in a dream, it means negative
repercussions in wakefulness. Hands in a dream are interpreted in twelve ways:
that is a brother, a sister, a partner, a son, a compassionate friend, one's
strength, wealth, leadership, money, proof, a craft, or work. The condition in
which the palm of one's hand looks in a dream indicates the state of one's health
and fitness. Clapping one's hands in a dream could either mean joy and
happiness, or it could mean nothing. Wearing a glove in one's hand in a dream
means ceasing the course of wrongdoing. Slapping one's own face with both
hands means sorrow, sadness or calamities. Hitting the back of one's hand into
the palm of the other hand in a dream means separation. In a dream, the fingers
of the right hand represent the daily five time prayers. The thumb represents
the pre-dawn prayer, the index represents the midday prayer, the middle finger
represents the mid-afternoon prayer, the ring finger represents the sunset
prayer, and the little finger represents the evening prayer. As for the fingers of
the left hand in a dream, they are interpreted to represent one's nephews. To
cross or intertwine one's fingers in a dream means difficulties and poverty. One's
toes in a dream represent the beauty of his character and denote his straight-
forwardness. Any defect or crookedness in them in a dream will mirror in
wakefulness. If a toe or a finger is bitten or crushed in a dream, it denotes evil
or perhaps an accident. If one sees milk coming forth from his thumb and blood
coming forth from his index finger in a dream, it means that he will marry a
mother, then will he marry her daughter, or it could mean that he will rape the
mother, then her daughter. Cracking one's fingers in a dream means exchanging
bad words between relatives or being sarcastic or making fun of other people.
If one's fingers are paralyzed in a dream, it means that he has committed an
awful sin. If one sees his right hand paralyzed in a dream, it means injustice
toward a weak person or inflicting losses upon an innocent person. If one's left
hand is paralyzed in a dream, it means the death of his brother or sister. As for
the fingernails in a dream, they denote beauty, courage, strength, a religious
covenant, or money. If one's fingernails are chipped, extracted, or broken in a
dream, they means loss of money and strength. If they look nicely clipped in a
dream, they mean both spiritual and material benefits. Long nails at the point
of a near breaking in a dream mean distress, sorrow, fears and depression. If
one's nail becomes a claw in a dream, it means rising against one's enemy and
opposition. If one does not have fingernails in a dream, it means bankruptcy.
If one's fingernails turn yellow, green or blue or if they are broken in the dream,
it means death. Clipping them in a dream means dispelling calamities or
distress. If a thorn or a chip of wooden enters under one's fingernails in a dream,
it means loss of power or money. If one sees himself in a dream knocking his
fingernails against his teeth in a dream, it means committing a despicable and
a loathsome act. As for seeing one's chest in a dream, if one sees himself having
a broad and a nice looking chest (See Chest), it means repentance of a sinner,
or being eager and willing to follow the truth and to comply with it, or to make
easy what was earlier difficult. One's breasts in a dream (See Breast) represent
his daughter. Man's breast in a dream means a woman, and woman's breasts
in a dream represents a man. Breasts in a dream mean five things: a little boy,
a little girl, a servant, a friend, or a brother. One's abdomen in a dream means
money, children, relatives or prosperity. If one sees his abdomen being cut open and washed, then stitched back to normal in the dream, it means blessings from
God Almighty, forgiveness for one's sins, and it could mean that one will receive
spiritual guidance. One's abdomen in a dream also denotes his good conduct,
amiable character, blessed enterprises and protection from the evil of the
accursed Satan. If one sees a newborn son or daughter coming out of his
abdomen in a dream, it means that such a child will be born and will grow to
govern that household. As for one's livers in a dream, they represent knowledge, money or children. If a man of knowledge sees his livers flying away from
his body like birds in a dream, it means that he will forget his knowledge, or if
one has children, they may die, or perhaps the government may seize his
property even if he has nothing. If one sees himself eating his own livers in a
dream, it means earning his livelihood. If they are cooked in the dream, then
they represent a lawful income, or they could mean gobbling the property of
one's own children. Ifa liver is removed in a dream, it means the death of a child.
Removing a liver in a dream also could mean injustice. One's kidney in a dream
means having a good business connection, dispelling adversities, distress,
trouble, safety from danger, a husband and a wife, one's parents, or it could
represent two lovers. One's kidneys in a dream also represent a strong,
courageous and a hard working man who serves someone in authority, or he may
become a personal guard, or an assistant to the governor. As for one's lungs in
a dream, they represent joy, happiness, or sorrow. Donating a lung to someone
known or unknown in a dream means receiving happiness in return. Eating a
broiled lung of a domesticated animal in a dream means profits. Otherwise, it
could mean acquiring unlawful money. Seeing one's lung torn in a dream means
nearing one's death. One's spleen in a dream (See Spleen) represents money.
As for seeing one's intestines in a dream, they represent earnings, leadership,
a child, unlawful money, intercession, hatred, livelihood, work or they could
mean changing one's mind about doing something which could cause a disaster.
One's stomach in a dream represents longevity, livelihood or children. A
healthy stomach in a dream means enjoying strength and a long life. The same
interpretation is given to the intestines or the umbilicus or the navel and the
three of them represent one's relationship with his wife. As for the ribs (See Ribs)
in a dream, they represent women. The loins or the spinal column in a dream
represent one's progeny. One's back in a dream (See Back) represents his strength,
wealth, glory, fame, master, destruction, end, poverty, old age and burdens. If
one sees himself carrying a heavy load in a dream, it means that he is carrying
his sins. If he carries merchandise in the dream, it means debt. If he carries
woods in the dream, it means backbiting others. If one sees himself carrying a
dead person on his back in a dream, it means that he takes care of orphans. As
for one's heart (See Heart) in a dream, it means intelligence, vigilance, aware-
ness, guidance, clarity and piety. One's buttocks and the rear end in a dream
represent his earnings, job and profits. If one sees himself licking someone's rear
end or buttocks in the dream, it means giving high praises to an unworthy and
an impious person or commending him. The male and female sexual organs
in a dream represent a good father or one's profession. What comes or goes into
the male organ or woman's vagina in a dream of good or bad will reflect in their
lives. Seeing one's penis in a dream means children, money, pride, state, or
authority. The testicles represent one's livelihood, one's daughters, protection
and maintenance. The meaning of the penis and the testicles may be transposed
in the dream interpretation. One's anus in a dream means a pouch, a store, a
resting place, or a coffer. The knee represents one's capital or one's attendance
to his work and earning his livelihood. As for the legs, they too represent one's
capital, paying attention to one's work and conduct. Man's leg represents a
woman, and a woman's leg represents a man. If one's leg turns into wood or iron in a dream, it means that he will fail to earn his livelihood.
One's feet represent his parents, his livelihood, a journey or his wealth. (See Feet; Foot).
If one foot is broken or cut off in a dream, it means either the death of a parent or loss of half of one's capital. If one's feet turn into iron or copper in a dream, it means
longevity. If they turn into glass in the dream, they denote his short life. The
human bones represent his livelihood, religion, glory or money. Collecting
bones in a dream means saving money. The bone marrow in a dream repre-
sents hidden money, good awareness, patience and gratitude. The veins and
nerves in a dream represent one's clan, modesty and progeny. As for seeing the
human skin in a dream, it means ornaments, presiding over others, a veil,

Wine

Tippler) Wine in a dream represents unlawful earnings, illegal tender, or easy
money. Drinking wine in a dream means committing a major sin, or it could
mean becoming wealthy. It also could imply verbal abuse, temptation, or
enmity. A river of wine in a dream means adversities. Wine in a dream also
represents marriage consent, or dismissal from one’s job. Mixing wine with
water in a dream means mixing legal and illegal money, or it could represent
earnings from a business partnership with a woman. Pressing grapes to make
wine in a dream means serving someone in authority whose employment allows
one to achieve noticeable successes in life. If one is invited to a drinking party
where he finds platters of fruit and pitchers of wine in the dream, it represents
his martyrdom. If a sick person sees himself drinking wine in a dream, it means
that he will receive the right medicine and recover from his illness. Drinking
wine in a dream also means losing one’s senses, or it could denote an evil
happening. Drinking wine in the company of mentally disturbed people along
with sedatives, drugs, music, dancing, farce, or ridiculous actions in a dream
means that one will brake his pledge of allegiance to his guardian or ruler,
deny his covenant to his Lord, or that he may start a war against his ruler. If a scholar
sees himself drinking wine in a dream, it means that his knowledge will grow.
If it is grape wine in the dream, it means that he will eat grapes outside of their
season, or that he may require a drug preparation as a cure for an ailment, or
it could mean earning lawful money, or falling into a shameful act. If he buys
wine or presses it in the dream, it means that he will foster religious distortion,
an act that will cause him to suffer from a curse. Wine in a dream also represents
lies, prattle, divulging secrets, adultery or crimes. Drinking wine in a compe¬
tition or for fun in a dream means loss of one’s money or child. If the person is
a hard-working laborer, it means that he may experience some temporary
comfort, or that he may marry an older woman. Drinking wine in a dream also
means suffering from a state of stupor. Seeing a departed person drinking non¬
intoxicating wine with joy in a dream means that he is dwelling in paradise. This
is only true if he was not in the habit of drinking alcohol in this world. However,
wine in a dream could be a good sign for one who is intending to get married,

(Beam; Gleam; Radiance; Shine) Light in a dream means guidance. Walking
from a dark place into the light in a dream means receiving guidance, divine
acceptance and protection in this world and in the hereafter, and it represents
richness after poverty, honor after humiliation, repentance following sin, sight
after blindness and the opposite is also true should one see himself walking from
light into darkness in a dream. Light in a dream also means Islam, or submission
to God Almighty. Seeing light in a dream denotes good deeds, knowledge, the
Holy Quran, or a righteous son. In a dream, light also may mean trials and
tribulations. Wearing a raiment of light in a dream means receiving knowledge,
or it could represent one’s growing devotion. If one sees light beaming from his
body in a dream, it means that he will be gifted with a son who will grow to be
a man of great knowledge, spiritual rank, and whose prayers are accepted. Thus,
whatever he ask, God Almighty will grant. Light in a dream also represents a
messenger, knowledge, or it could mean accomplishing one’s needs in the light.
Light in a dream also represents the sun, the moon, the daylight, sunshine,

Fart
(Breaking wind; Passing gas; Foolishness; Wind) Passing gas in a dream
means hearing or speaking vile words, or suffering from adversities, or it could
mean dispersing a group of people, telling a shocking news, stupidity, belittling
people, lies, using insulting words, or it could represent the sound that could
emanate from beating someone. If one breaks wind with a loud sound in a dream,
it means that he will address someone with harsh words. If one sees himself
sitting with people and unwillingly passes gas or breaks wind in a dream, it
means that his difficulties, sorrows or stress will be dispelled, though with
horridness and repulsiveness. If one breaks wind intentionally in such a
gathering in a dream, then it means committing an evil act and suffering from
its consequences. If one passes gas without noise in his dream, it means that he
will receive a sarcastic commendation that matches the smell of his fart. If one
breaks wind in a dream while sitting with a group of people who are experiencing
difficulties, it means that their difficulties will be dispelled, and their suffering
will ease. If they are merchants, it means that their merchandise will move
faster. If one forces himself to break wind in a dream, it means that he will carry
a burden greater than he can bear. If one breaks wind along with passing gas
in his dream, it means that he will attain success in his life, and he will receive
honor and profits from an important business trip. However, it is possible that
his interests will become diverse, or that he could lose his focus, then he will
return home free from such burdens. To fart from the mouth in a dream means
faltering or a slip of a tongue, an accident, suffering from gum irritation, a stroke
that will affect one’s speech, or it could mean developing ill habits that will cause
him to feel ashamed of himself in public.

Bashfulness

excuse. If a bearded person sees himself bashful in a dream, it means that he
might suffer imprisonment. Bashfulness in a dream also could represent a
myrtle, or any aromatic plant. Bashfulness in a dream also purport a clear
excuse, increase in one’s income, the arrival of a traveller, or receiving a letter
from him. If being bashful beautifies the person in the dream, then it means glad
tidings. Otherwise, if one feels ashamed from it, then it means distress and

(Dissolute; Immoral; Shameless) In a dream, profligacy signifies
ingratitude, disbelief, or denial of the truth. If a pregnant woman acts shamelessly
in a dream, it means that she will soon deliver her baby, or it could represent
a recalcitrant child, or a rebellious son.

Muhammad
(God’s Prophet Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him; The
Seal of the prophets; The last Messenger) It is related that God’s Messenger,
upon whom be peace, has said: “One who sees me in a dream will see me in his
wakefulness, for Satan cannot impersonate me. ”He also has said: “One who sees
me in a dream, it is as if he has truly seen me, for Satan cannot impersonate me. ”
He also has said: “One who sees me in a dream will not enter the fire of hell. ”
Muslim theologians and scholars differ in opinion about the meaning of seeing
God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a dream. Imam Ibn Seerin used to ask someone who
tells of such a dream to describe the Prophet, upon whom be peace. If any of the
details did not fit his description, Ibn Seerin’s reply was: “You have not seen
him.” Asim Bin Kulayb once said: “I related to Ibn Abbas, God bless his soul and
that of his father, that I saw God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a dream. Ibn Abbas replied:
“Describe him to me.” Asim Bin Kulayb added: “I described him as resembling
Al-Hassan son of‘Ali, upon both of them be peace.” Ibn Abbas replied: “Indeed
you have seen him.” Ibn ‘Arabi once explained that the essence of seeing God’s
Prophet (uwbp) is cognizance of his presence and understanding the reality of
his character and example. Thus, recognizing the presence of the blessed being
is as affirmation of the truth, while seeing the physical form represents his
example and attributes, for being earthly does not change the essence of
prophethood. When God’s Prophet (uwbp) said: “He will see me in wakefulness,”
it means: ‘Expounding upon what he saw,’ for what one sees in such a dream is
the truth which resides in the realms of the unseen. In the second saying, when
God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace, said: “It is as if he has truly seen me,” it
means that if one had seen him during the time of delivering God’s massage, the
example will be the same. Thus, the first saying signifies what is real and true
while the second saying implies the physical reality and its example. If one sees
God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace, coming toward him in a dream, it means
blessings and benefits, and if one sees God’s prophet (uwbp) turning away from
him in a dream, it means the opposite. Al-Qadi ‘Iyad, God bless his soul, in¬
terpreted the words of God’s Prophet (uwbp) in his saying: “Has truly seen me,"
to mean: “has truly seen my physical form,” that the blessed companions knew,
while seeing him in another form in a dream means that one’s dream connotes
personal interpretations. Following the explanation of Al-Qadi ‘Iyad, Imam Al-
Nawawi commented by saying: “This is a weak explanation. A stronger inter¬
pretation is to say that one who sees God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a dream has seen
him in reality however his resemblance may appear. Whether the resemblance
in the dream is known or not.” In a separate commentary, Shaikh Al-Baqlani
added: “What Al-Qadi ‘Iyad has said does not contradict what Imam Al-Nawawi
has said.” This is because the first dream does not require interpretation,
according to Al-QadI ‘Iyad. In the second type of dream, that is discussed in
Imam Al-Nawawi’s comments, one’s dream does require interpretation or
analysis. This is to mean that since no Satan can impersonate God’s Prophet
(uwbp), then whatever appearance he displays in one’s dream is true. The
meaning of God’s prophet’s saying: “For Satan cannot impersonate me, ” implies
that since God’s guardianship (Isma ) is inviolable, and since God’s Prophet,
upon whom be peace, is sacrosanct, then as he was protected during the time
of delivering God’s message to humanity, he is still protected by the same
guardianship after God Almighty took him back to Himself. Thus, whoever sees
God’s Prophet (uwbp) in any appearance in a dream, it is as if has seen him in
reality, regardless whether one sees him as a young man, or at the time of
delivering his message, or as an old person. If one sees him looking old in a
dream, it means peace. If one sees him looking young in a dream, it means war.
If one sees him smiling in a dream, it means that one is truly emulating his
traditions. Seeing God’s Prophet (uwbp) in his known and recognized appear¬
ance in a dream means that the one seeing the dream is a pious person, that his
integrity is inviolable, and that his success is unquestionable. Seeing him
(uwbp) in a dream frowning represents the ill state of the one seeing the dream.
Ibn Abi Jumrah once said: “Seeing Him (uwbp) in a beautiful appearance
denotes the good religious standing of the person seeing the dream. Seeing him
with some disfeatures in a dream, a deficiency or distortion in one’s application
of his religious duties, for God’s Prophet (uwbp) is like a mirror that portrays
the one standing before it.” In this sense, the person seeing the dream can
recognize his own state. This interpretation is also given by Ibn Hajar Al-Hutaymi,
God bless his soul. Like that, in the book of ‘Sharh al-Shama-il’ of Imam Al-
Tirmithi, it is also stated that Satan cannot impersonate God Almighty, His
signs, prophets or angels. If someone suffering from distress sees God’s Prophet
(uwbp) in a dream, it means that his difficulties will be removed. If a prisoner
sees him in a dream, it means that he will be released form prison. If one is living
at a time of economic chaos, and if high prices are exploiting the people of the
land, or if injustice is tyrannizing everyone, then seeing God’s Prophet, upon
whom be peace, in a dream represents an end to such adversities. Seeing him
in his beautiful, radiant and impeccable appearance as best described by his
companions in a dream means glad tidings of attaining a successful conclusion
to one’s life in this world and in the hereafter. The state and clarity of one’s heart
and how well polished is his own mirror determines in what appearance he may
see him, upon whom be peace. If God’s Prophet (uwbp) comes toward someone
in a dream, or leads him in prayers, or if one sees himself accompanying him
on the road, or if one eats something sweet from his blessed hand, or receives
a cloak, or a suitable shirt, or if God’s Prophet promises him something, or prays
for him, then if the one seeing the dream qualifies for leadership, and if he is
a righteous and a just man who commands what is good and forbids what is evil,
and if he is learned and practices what he knows, and if he is a pious worshipper
and a devout Muslim, he will then attain the station and company of the blessed
ones. If the one who sees the dream is a disobedient servant of God Almighty,
it means that he will repent for his sins and return to his Lord. If he is living
in heedlessness, it means that he will be guided. Perhaps, he might attain his
goals in acquiring knowledge, or learn how to reconstruct his innermost being
to befit a human being who is grateful to his Lord. If one is fearing oppression,
persecution, or loss of his property and wealth sees him (uwbp) in a dream, it
means putting an end to such fears, for he is the best of intercessors to restore
anyone before God Almighty. If one who follows innovations sees God’s Prophet
(uwbp) in a dream, it means that he should fear God Almighty, heed to His
warnings and correct himself and particularly if he sees Him (uwbp) walking
away from him, or turning his back to him. Seeing God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a
dream also means receiving glad tidings and happy news, or it could signify
justice, establishing the truth, fulfillment of a promise, reaching a high rank
among the members of one’s family, or perhaps it could mean that one may suffer
from their envy and jealousy, or leave his homeland and migrate to another
country, or it could mean that he may lose his parents and become an orphan.
Seeing him (uwbp) in a dream also could mean seeing miraculous events
( Karamat ), for his companions witnessed and testified to a deer greeting him,
a camel who kissed his foot, the broiled leg of mutton talking to him, trees
moving to give him cover, pebbles glorifying God’s praises in his hand, among
countless miracles, including his Nocturnal Journey and ascension ( Miraj ) to
the heavens to meet his Lord. If an ophthalmologist sees him in a dream, it
means that he will acquire great expertise in his field and become renowned in
the land, for God’s prophet upon whom be peace, did return the eye of his
companion Qutadah to its place and made his sight sharper than it was by God’s
leave, after Qutadah had lost his eye during one of the battles with the
unbelievers. If a traveller in the desert sees God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a dream,
or if there is drought somewhere, it means that rain will fall and springs will
gush forth, as water gushed from between his blessed fingers when he placed
his blessed hand over a half filled cup to quench the thirst of an entire army.
If calamities, starvation and drought has befallen a land and someone sees Him
(uwbp) in a dream, it means that such calamities will be lifted and life will return
to normal in that place. If a woman sees him in a dream, it means that she will
reach a high spiritual station, honor, righteousness, chastity, trustworthiness
and perhaps be given a blessed progeny, or if she is wealthy, it means that she
will spend her wealth on God’s path. Seeing him (uwbp) in a dream also means
facing adversities, bearing patience and suffering from one’s enemy. If an
orphan sees him (uwbp) in a dream, it means that he will reach an exalted
station and the same goes if a foreigner sees him in his dream. If a physician
sees him (uwbp) in a dream, it means that people will benefit from his medicine.
Seeing him (uwbp) in a dream also means victory over one’s enemy, or consolidating
and paying one’s debts, or recovering from an illness, or attending a pilgrimage
to God’s House in Mecca, or triumphing over one’s trials, or cessation of one’s
adversities, or fertility of a barren land, or the pregnancy of a barren woman.
If a visitor to his mosque sees himself in a dream coming before God’s Prophet
(uwbp) and finds him standing up, it denotes one’s correct religious standing,
and it means that he will have commanding authority over the Imam of his time.
If one finds him (uwbp) deceased in the dream, it means that a noble person from
the family of the person seeing the dream will shortly die. If one sees the funeral
of God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a dream, it means that a calamity will befall that
country. Following his funeral procession up to his grave (uwbp) in a dream
means that the person seeing the dream will yield to innovations. Visiting his
grave (uwbp) in a dream means receiving a great treasure. If one sees himself
as the son of God’s Prophet (uwbp) in a dream, and even if one is not one of his
descendents, it denotes one’s sincerity, true faith and certitude. Seeing God’s
Prophet (uwbp) by one person does not exclude the remainder of the believers,
but the blessings encompass all of them. Receiving something from him (uwbp)
such as food or a drink in a dream means benefits and profits. If one receives
food which substance connotes negative circumstances, such as a melon or the
like elements in a dream, it means that one will escape from a great danger,
though he will toil and suffer from hardships during his trials. If one sees that
one of the limbs that belong to God’s Prophet (uwbp) has become his own in a
dream, it means that he is following innovation and making changes in the laws
God’s Prophet (uwbp) brought to humankind. If one sees himself in a dream
embodying the form of God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace, or wearing one of
his garments, or receives his ring, or sword, then if the person is seeking to
govern, he will attain that and the people will accept his leadership. If one is
suffering from persecution, or humiliation in the land, then seeing God’s
Prophet (uwbp) standing in a dream means that God Almighty will grant him
victory and make him rise above his enemies. If one is poor, his needs will be
satisfied, or if he is unmarried, he will get married. If one sees him (uwbp) in
a ruined place in a dream, it means that such a place will be rebuilt. If one enters
a room and finds him (uwbp) sitting there in a dream, it means that a miraculous
sign, or a major event will take place in such a locality. If one sees him (uwbp)
making the call to prayers in a dream, it means that prosperity will spread in
that place. If one sees him establishing the prayers ( Iqamah ) in a dream, it
means that the Muslims will reunite and dispel their differences. If one sees him
(uwbp) placing kohl over his eyelids in a dream, it means that he will find safety
and correct his religious stand, or it could mean that one will study and become
a scholar in the field of the prophetic sayings ( Ak&dith ). If a pregnant woman
sees him (uwbp) in a dream, it means that she will beget a son. If one sees him
(uwbp) having a black beard with no gray hair in it in a dream, it will bring
happiness, joy and prosperity to one’s life. If God’s Prophet (uwbp) is seen as an
old man in a dream, it means strength in one’s life and victory over one’s enemy.
Seeing him (uwbp) in his most exalted state in a dream means that the Imam,
or the ruler of the country will rise in station and that his authority will expand.
If one sees his blessed neck wide, it means that the Imam is holding firmly to
his trust. If one sees him (uwbp) having a large chest in a dream, it means that
the Imam or the ruler of the country is generous toward his subjects. If one sees
his blessed stomach (uwbp) empty in a dream, it means that the treasury of the
country is empty. If one sees his right hand closed in a dream, it means that the
Imam or the ruler of the country does not pay his employees, or distribute the
collected alms tax. If one sees his blessed right hand (uwbp) open in a dream,
it denotes the generosity of the ruler and his compliance with the distribution
of charities and alms tax as prescribed in God’s book. If his hands are locked
together in a dream, it means complications in the life of the Imam, or the ruler
of the country. The same will affect the life of the person seeing the dream,
including suffering from distress and adversities. If one sees his blessed leg
beautiful and hairy in a dream, it means that one’s clan will become stronger,
and his tribe will grow. If one sees the blessed thighs of God’s Prophet tall in
a dream, it denotes longevity of the Imam or the ruler of the country. If one sees
him (uwbp) standing in the midst of soldiers and everyone is laughing and joking
in a dream, it means that the Muslim army will be defeated and humiliated in
a war. If he is seen with a small army that is ill equipped and everyone is looking
down in the dream, it means that the Muslim army will triumph in that year.
If one sees him (uwbp) combing his blessed hair and beard in a dream, It means
that one’s distress and adversities will be dispelled. Seeing him (uwbp) in his
own mosque, or in any mosque, or in his usual place in a dream it means gaining
power and honor. If one sees him standing in the midst of his companions
delivering a revelation in a dream, it means that one will acquire a greater
knowledge, wisdom and spiritual understanding. Seeing the grave of God’s
Prophet (uwbp) in a dream means prosperity and profits for a merchant, or the
release of a prisoner from his jail. Seeingoneself in a dream as the father of God’s
Prophet (uwbp) means that one’s faith will diminish and his certitude will
weaken. If a woman sees herself in a dream as one of the wives of God’s Prophet
(uwbp), it represents her growing faith. If one sees him (uwbp) looking into one’s
affairs in a dream, it means that God’s Prophet (uwbp) is admonishing the one
seeing the dream and commanding him to render his wife her due rights. To
walk behind him (uwbp) in a dream means following his ( Sunnah ) traditions in
wakefulness. To eat with him (uwbp) in a dream means that one is commanded
to pay the annual alms tax ( Islamic law) due over one’s money making assets,
or liquid assets, gold, silver, jewelry, savings, etcetera, excepting one’s home or
vehicle. If one sees God’s Prophet (uwbp) eating alone in a dream, it means that
the one seeing the dream refuses to give charities and disdains to help those who
ask for his help. In this sense, it is as if God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace, is
commanding the person to give charities and to help the needy. If one sees him
(uwbp) bare footed in a dream, it means that one has neglected to do his regular
prayers. To see him (uwbp) and to shake hands with him in a dream means that
one is truly his follower. If one sees his blood mixed with that of God’s Prophet
(uwbp) in a dream, it means that one will marry a woman from among his
descendents, or that one will marry the daughter of a great religious scholar.
If God’s Prophet (uwbp) gives someone some type of greens or herbs in a dream,
it means that one will escape from a great danger. If he (uwbp) gives him
something fresh or honey in the dream, it means that one will learn the Holy
Quran and acquire a great knowledge and wisdom according to the amount he
receives in his dream. If one returns the gift to God’s Prophet (uwbp) it means
that he will follow innovation. To see him (uwbp) delivering a sermon in a dream
means that he is commanding people to do good and to eschew evil. If one sees
the color of his skin (uwbp) tan in a dream, it means that one will think about
repenting from his sins and abstain from young people’s ignorance. If the color
of his skin is white in the dream, it means that one will repent for his sins and
turn to God Almighty for acceptance. If he (uwbp) reprimands someone in a
dream, it means that one must refrain from innovation and follow the prophetic
traditions. If one finds that God’s Prophet (uwbp) has died in a specific location
in a dream, it means that the person seeing the dream will die in that same place

(Stone) Mountain rocks in a dream represent strong believers who hold
fast to their religious duties. If one sees himself trying to lift a heavy rock,
testing his strength in a dream, it means that he will face a strong opponent.
If he succeeds at lifting it in the dream, it means that he will win his battle.
Otherwise, it could mean that he will lose it. If one sees stones hitting him, or
falling over his head in a dream, it means that his superior will delegate heavy
responsibilities to him, compel him to do a personal favor, depend on him or

and his opinion will be respected. Throwing stones in every direction from a high
altitude in a dream means being unjust toward others, or it could mean being

thing. It is also interpreted to mean attending to one’s prayers without the ritual
ablution. Irrationality in a dream also may mean insolent behavior, or ill

gious person sitting on a table with a plate of honey before him and refusing to
eat from it in the dream means that he is ungrateful to his Lord, and that he
does not confess to the innumerable favors which God Almighty has given him
during this life. A gathering of irreligious people in a dream represents one’s
children in their infancy. An irreligious person in a dream also represents a
farmer who plants a seed, then when it becomes a seedling, he covers it with

a believer sees his face yellow in a dream, it denotes his devotion and fear of
wrongdoing. Yellowness of the face in a dream also could mean being In love.
If an African person sees his face white in a dream, it means hypocrisy,
impudence and shamelessness. If a Caucasian sees his face black in a dream,
it means that his heart and intentions are better than what a stranger may
think of him. If one’s face appears white and his body black in a dream, it means
that he shows decency and disguises inappropriateness. If a whiskerless person
sees hair growing over the sides of his upper lip in a dream, it means that he
carries burdening debts, or that he has lost dignity. If one’s face looks different
or missing some of its clarity or beauty in a dream, it denotes someone who jokes
excessively, for immoderate jesting, hilarity or mirth decreases people’s respect.
If there is no skin to cover one’s cheeks in a dream, it means that he lives from
asking others for his needs. Dust coveringone’s face in a dream means deficiency
in one’s religious devotion. If one’s face or eyes turn bluish in a dream, it means
that he is a criminal in God’s sight. An opaque face in a dream represents a liar
or an innovator. If the color of one’s face is blush or reddish with white spots in
the dream, it means joy, happiness and good living. If a righteous person sees
his face blush in a dream, it means that he feels ashamed of something he did.
If one’s face is soaking with sweat in a dream, it represents his modesty and
reserve. If one is frowning, and if the color of his face turns red in the dream,
it means that he may suffer from distress or losses. Frowning in someone’s face
in a dream also means suffering at his hand. If a woman sees her face blackened
with soot in a dream, it means the death of her husband. If she sees herself
putting makeup and anointing herself with perfume in a dream, it means good
news for her and for her husband. A smiling and a cheerful face in a dream
connotes happiness and righteousness whether the person is alive or dead. The
beauty of a woman’s face or that of a child in a dream means blessings. Having
two faces in a dream mean a grievous and an woeful end, for God Almighty does
not look at someone who has two faces. If a scholar sees himself having several
faces in a dream, it means that he is utilizing his knowledge in various
applications, or giving a subject several possible interpretations. A frowning

Tooth
Teeth in a dream represent one's identity, age, clan, a boy, a girl, his
family, money, servants, domestic animals, employees, weapons, life, death,
unity, separation, trusts, or savings. In a dream, male's or female's upper teeth
represent the male members of one's family from the father's side, and the teeth
ofthe lowerjaw represent the female members of one's family from the mother's
side. The closer the teeth are to the incisor, the closer is the relative. Divided
in two sections, the upper right incisor represents the father, and the upper left
incisor represents the paternal uncle, or it could represent one's sisters, sons,
or a close friend. The upper canines represent one's cousin. or two friends who
are as close as cousins. The bicuspids represent one's uncles from the mother's
side and their children, while the molars represent the grandparents and the
grand children. The lower right incisor represents the mother, and the lower left
incisor represents one's aunt from his father's side, or they could represent two
sisters, two daughters, or two close friends who have the same compassion,
concern and love. The lower canines represent one's female cousin from either the father or the mother's side. The lower canine tooth, or the eyetooth
represents the sire of the house, or the landlord. The upper and the lower molars
also represent the furthest members of one's family, including the grandmother
and her grand daughters. If a tooth moves in its place in the dream, it means
an illness. Ifit falls, or if it is lost, then it means death of the person to whom
it is attributed, or it could possibly mean that he will be separated from him and
can no longer see him. If one saves his lost tooth and does not bury it in the
dream, it means that someone will come forth and be to him as good as that
relative. Otherwise, ifhe does bury it, then it means the death of his relative.
(2)ln a dream, the human limbs also represent the members of his family, and
whatever condition they portray in one's dream may become visible in the
members of his family. Similarly, whatever may affect one's teeth in a dream
can be interpreted as affecting such family members. If one's incisors look
beautiful and bright in the dream, they denote the power, honor and prosperity
his father or uncle will gain. If extra incisors grow in one's mouth in a dream,
it means that one's family will grow by either a new born brother or a new son.
Ifone finds his teeth slightly deteriorating in a dream, it means a trial, or that
his family will engage in a disgraceful act that will bring him shame. If one
attempts to pull out his teeth in a dream, it means that he may spend his money
unwillingly, pay a fine, or separate from his parents, thus cutting off his blood
ties, or he may become untrue to his relatives. If one's teeth turn yellow or black
in a dream, such a dream also represents a disgraceful act that will bring shame
upon one'sfamily. Yellow teeth in a dream mean spendingmoney to restore one's
reputation, or it could mean being knowledgeable in one's own esteem. Developing
bad mouth odor in a dream represents bad connotations resulting from praises
one's family may receive. Deteriorating teeth in a dream represent weakness in
one's family. If one sees people biting him in a dream, it means that he could
have pretended something in public, though he fortunately restrained himself.
(31If one's mouth in a dream is interpreted to represent his household, then the
teeth of the right side represent the boys, and those on the left side represent
the girls. On the other hand, the teeth on the right side could represent the older
generation, and the teeth on the left side could represent the younger generation.
The incisors represent the young men in the family, and the canines represent
the young girls. As to the molars, they represent elderly people. If one loses a
molar tooth in a dream, it meansthe death of an elderly person in his household.
(4lHuman teeth in a dream also represent one's business and management of his
life. In that case, the molars represent one's private life, the eyetooth represents
what is semi-public, while the front incisors represent what is openly practiced,
one's public character, words and deeds. Ifone sees his teeth broken in a dream,
it means that he pays his debts slowly. Long teeth in a dream mean enmity or
a fight between members of one's household. If one sees his teeth curved and
deteriorating, and if one decides that it is better to pull them out in a dream,
it means that he will escape from great adversities and dangers. Ifone's teeth
turn gold in a dream, they represent benefits for a teacher or a preacher.
Otherwise, golden teeth for everyone else in a dream mean fire, illness, Candida,
or an illness that is caused by one's bile. Ifone's teeth become glass or wood in
a dream, it means his death. Ifthey turn silver in the dream, it means harm or
losses. If one's front teeth fall and new ones grow instead in the dream, they
represent major changes in one's life. Ifone sees himself forcefully pushing his
tongue against his teeth in a dream, it means that he speaks ill of his own family,
or it could mean problems in one's house. If the crown or the enamel of one's
eyetooth is damaged, or if it falls in a dream, it means the death of one's son.
(')Teeth in a dream represent one's clan, close relatives, or distant cousins. The
molar teeth represent the male members and the incisors represent the female
members. Unnecessarily pulling out one's teeth in a dream means paying a fine, losing one's capital, or severing relationship with members of one's family.
Discovering one or two cavities in one's teeth in a dream means that one may
beget one or two sons. Developing bad mouth odor in a dream means belittling
someone's ideas, or it could mean a family dispute. Fallen teeth in a dream may
denote that the husband and the wife sleep in separate beds, or it may mean
poverty, or that one may die in a foreign land, or that the term of one's life span
in this world may be extended. Ifone pulls out his teeth and buries them in the
dream, it means that his entire clan or family will die before him. Pulling out
one's teeth in a dream also means exposing one's secrets. Losing a tooth in a
dream may imply a punishment for a wrongdoing. Ifone finds the teeth of his
upperjaw and those ofthe lowerjaw intermixed in the dream, it means that the
women control the men in his or family. Flossing one's teeth in a dream means
dispersal of one's family, or loss of money and property. If after flossing one's
teeth some meat fiber remains stuck between the teeth in the dream, it means
that he backbites his family members. (8) Teeth in a dream also represent a pearl
necklace, a grinder, or an army formation. The right wing, the left wing and the
front assault formation, or they could mean severingblood ties. The incisors may
represent the heart of a human being. Teeth in one's pocket or in the palm of
one's hand in a dream represent one's brothers. If one has an incarcerated
relative, and ifhe sees his teeth pulled out in a dream, it means the release of
his relative from prison. Pulling out one's teeth in a dream could mean the
return of a traveller to his homeland. Tartar in a dream represents weaknesses
in the family. Black or broken teeth in a dream mean sorrow caused by one's
relatives. Wisdom teeth in a dream represent one's followers, while the incisors
and the canines represent his wealth, adornment, pride, or child. The changing
of their color into yellow or black in a dream mean changes in one's life. Ifone's
teeth turn into iron in a dream, they mean strength. Losing one's teeth in a
dream also could mean losingone'sjob. Pulling out one's teeth in a dream so that
no one can see them means infertility, or loss of one's business, loss of one's
savings, a bad relationship with one's family, an evil act toward one's family,
or it could mean that he will try to sustain his business through a loan, then
suffer from bankruptcy. Having a bad tooth in wakefulness and pulling it out
in a dream means trying to comfort or appease a difficult person whose
hurtfulness will eventually cease. Replacing a tooth with a bridge in a dream
means recovering losses, or balancing one's business. Having an extra tooth in
