Spiritual gathering
(Admonition; Fellowship; Gathering; Meeting; Religious
meeting) If one who does not qualify to be a spiritual leader or a scholar sees
himself holding a religious gathering and admonishing people to do good and to
forbid evil in a dream, it means distress and an illness which he is praying hard
for it to be lifted by God’s leave. However, if he does speak wisdom during such
a spiritual gathering in his dream, it means praying hard to have one’s distress
and illness lifted by God’s leave. Consequently, and God willing, he will recover
from his illness and be able to dispel his adversities. His condition will change
from tightness to abundance. He will repay his debts and overcome his oppressors.
If one sees a spiritual gathering where God’s Name is glorified, the holy Quran
is read and wisdom is spoken in his dream, it means that such a place will be
established as a spiritual center or as a mosque. Such a place will also become
a center where spiritual leaders and governors will gather and speak. If love
songs of light nature are played during such a gathering in a dream, it means
that falsehood will overtake such a place. If one sees himself sitting in the center
stage, in the middle of learned people and religious scholars in a dream, it means
that he will receive a greater knowledge and honor in his life. A gathering that
involves a court case, or a marriage in a dream represents an unknown adversity
that will safely pass. Admonishing people in a public gathering in a dream
means that one’s command will be obeyed. Sitting in the center stage in a
spiritual gathering in a dream represents one’s station or rank, or it could
represent one’s wife, child, property, or personal secretary. Anything that
happens to such a gathering in the dream may reflect on any of them. (Also see

Painter
(Artist; Illustrator) In a dream, a painter represents knowledge, archi¬
tecture, wisdom, writing poems, writing love songs or telling lies. A painter in
a dream also represents someone who conceals his acts, or hides his true face.
He also could represent alcoholism, falling in love, marriage, or having children.
Some of the painter’s works are beneficial while others are harmful. All
depending on the quality of his work, its objectives, balance, resemblance to the
object painted and authenticity. The characteristics of such a person in the
dream may be that of a hypocrite in wakefulness, or an ostentatious person, a
toadying person, a hypocrite, a panegyrist, or a lauding person, though he
mostly looks as a good, sincere and a hard working person. The value of his
paintings varies depending on the subject treated. A painter in a dream also
represents a person who loves flattery, self-adulation, an eloquently speaking
person, a liar, one who fails his promises, or he could represent strength and

Singing
(Chanting; Song) Singing in a dream means falsehood and trouble.
Having a beautiful voice in a dream may represent a profitable business.
Otherwise, if one sings off key in his dream, it means that he is venturing into
a losing business. A singer in a dream also represents a wise person, a preacher,
or a physician. The location where the singing has taken place in the dream will
experience lies, falsehood and separation between beloveds because of jealousy,
envy and perfidy. Singing in a dream also connotes evil, disputes and fights. If
a professional singer, a musician, or a music writer sees himself singing his
repertoire in a dream, it means benefits and profits. If the singing is bad, or off
key in the dream, then it could mean lack of work, meekness, or it could mean
having little opinion about oneself. If one sees himself singing while walking in
a dream, it means earning a comfortable livelihood, being content and having
a good opinion about oneself. Singing in the bathroom or under a shower in a
dream means speaking unclear words, or having a dispute. If a rich person sees
himself singing in the streets or in a marketplace in a dream, it means a scandal,
or it could carry bad connotation. If a poor person or an evil person sees such
a dream, it means that he has lost his mind. If a pious person sees himself
singing in the streets or in a marketplace in a dream, it means that he will

Courting
(Flirting; Love poems; Philander) Courting a woman or singing love
songs to her or displaying amorous behavior for her in public in a dream
represents someone who divulges people’s secrets.

Zikr
(Hymn; Remembrance of God; Songs of God’s love; Supplications) If one sees
himself in a dream participating in a circle of people remembering God Al¬
mighty, or calling upon His most beautiful name, or invoking His divine
attributes, or reading the Quran, or reciting devotional songs, it means that
such location will be built as a holy place to celebrate God’s praises. The
goodness of that place depends on the quality of reading, or the degree of
devotion seen in the dream. When it is an ascetic song in the dream, it means
that one’s deputyship is established correctly, but if one sees himself singing
a sensual love song, then it means temptations. If one sees himself repeatedly
calling God’s name in a dream, it means that he will win victory over his enemy.
Calling people to God and reminding them of His attributes in a dream
represents the work of a preacher who admonishes people, helps them to the
shore of safety, and distances them from their sins and their consequences. If
a merchant sees himself callingupon God’s beautiful names in a dream, it means
that his business will be saved from bankruptcy. If a disbeliever, a profane or
a secular person sees himself in a state of remembering God Almighty and
calling upon His most holy attributes in a dream, it means that he may fall sick,
or face great adversities, while in his heart, he will remain pleading with God
Almighty for mercy and relief, though he may remain silent in public regarding
his inner faith, and in fear of being ridiculed by his own circles. If during his
dream one speaks words of truth and wisdom, it means that he will recover from
his adversity and be cured from his illness. Furthermore, he will move into a
more comfortable life and begin a life of sharing and doing good deeds in this
world, or he may receive guidance and light, and faith will permeate his heart.
If one says his prayers with a twang in a dream, it means that he will linger in
difficulties, and that people will mock him too. (Also see Supplications)

David
(Prophet David, upon whom be peace.) If one sees him in a dream, it means
that he will gain power, authority, commit a sin, become an ascetic, be tried and
oppressed by an unjust person, then he will be saved by God’s leave and regain
the upper hand over his enemy. He will also receive an exalted office or rank of
honor. It is also said, that if one sees the prophet David (uwbp) in a dream, that
his country or town will be governed by a just ruler, an honorable president or
a righteous judge. If in fact the ruler or the judge of that town, county or country
is an unjust person, then seeing God’s prophet David (uwbp) in a dream means
that God Almighty will surely replace him with a just and an honorable one. If
one becomes God’s prophet David (uwbp), or if he wears his robe in the dream
it means that he will be appointed as a judge, if he qualifies. If he does not
qualify, it means that he will prosper, or that he will grow in piety and become
righteous through much devotion, piety, sadness and crying in fear of his Lord
and love for Him. Seeing the prophet David (uwbp) in a dream also means
deputyship, trials with women, trouble caused by women, or it could mean
recitation of the Quran or being in a state of constant remembrance of God
Almighty, prayers, supererogatory prayers at night, understanding the meaning
of what one reads, repentance from sin, chanting songs of God’s love, returning
to God’s path after heedlessness, manufacturing and processing minerals, or it
could represent God’s acceptance of one’s repentance. Should one be in such a
manufacturing or processing business, it means that great wealth will come to
him, or that his adversities will be of little importance. Seeing the prophet David
(uwbp) in a dream also means reaching a successful conclusion to one’s life in
this world. If an unjust man of knowledge sees him frowning at him or warning
him, then one must be at his guard, fear any wrongdoing and correct himself.
