In a dream, truthfulness represents one’s faith and certitude. Being
truthful in a dream means avoiding adversities.

(Affiliation; Alliance; Business association) In a dream, business
partnership means happiness, or it could mean exaggeration in one’s devotion
toward God Almighty, or it could mean going to extremes to attain business
success and prosperity in the world. If a poor person sees himself involved in a
business partnership with a rich person in a dream, it means that he will become
wealthy. If he is hoping for an inheritance, then seeing this dream means that
it will come through, and that he will find a business partner. If one sees himself
in a business partnership with a known person in a dream, it means that they
deal justly and equitably with one another. If one’s partner in the dream is an
unknown old person, then he represents his grandfather and such a year will
be a prosperous business year for him. If one’s partner in the dream is a young
man, then he represents an enemy, or it could mean that his opponent will be
fair in dealing with him, though the person in the dream will remain suspicious
but cannot legally dissolve his partnership. Partnership in a dream also means
sincerity, loyalty, truthfulness and fulfilling one’s agreement.

Ishaq
(Also known as John in Western traditions. God’s prophet Ishaq, son of the
prophet Jacob, upon both of them be peace.) In a dream, seeing him indicates
adversities and hardships. If one has a son who ran away in disobedience to his
father, and if he sees God’s prophet Ishaq in a dream, it means that he will
return to his home and be obedient again. This dream also indicates a surge of
glad tidings, peace and tranquility. Seeing Ishaq (uwbp) in a dream also means
suffering from persecution by the senators of one’s town, or from some of his
relatives, and finally God Almighty will come to his help, and grant him back
his integrity and honor. If one sees him in his best form and radiant beauty, it
becomes a sign of glad tidings, whereby one’s progeny will engender leaders,
governors and righteous people. Seeing him in a dream also may mean coming
out of tight circumstances into a more relaxed ones, changing from heedlessness
into guidance, poverty into richness, and from disobedience to one’s parents to
obeying them again. If one sees himself transformed into Isliaq (uwbp) or to wear
his robe in a dream means that he may near his death then be saved from it.
Islam: (Religion of Islam; Surrender to God’s will; Submission) To see oneself as
a Muslim, praising God Almighty, thanking Him, facing the Ka‘aba in one’s
prayers, or to see oneself embracing Islam in a dream means straightening one’s
life, or repentance from one’s sins. If one sees himself renewing his Islam in a
dream, it means safety from plagues, sickness, or adversities. To proclaim the
two testimonies: ‘There is no god other than Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger
of Allah,” in one’s dream means relief from distress, or guidance after heedlessness.
Saying these testimonies in a dream also may mean returning to one’s parents
after having abandoned them. It also means returning to a place one has earlier
deserted, or to using earlier criterions in one’s life. If a Muslim recites these
proclamations in a dream, it means that he will testify to the truth in a court

of state; Vizier) In a dream, a vice-regent represents someone whom people seek
for his knowledge, or to learn the mastery of his craft, or he could represent an
appointed justice of the peace. He also represents someone who inherits good
and bad qualities, or whose character is different privately from the way he
portrays himself in public. If one sees the vice-regent of the land in a stately
appearance, or if he sees himself in such a form in a dream, it denotes his good
state in this world and his success in the hereafter. Seeing him wearing an
unsuitable garment in a dream reflects one’s own state, or it may mean that his
current religious state is weak, though it may become better at a latter stage
of his life. A vice-regent or a calif in a dream also represents someone who
establishes the laws of his religion and follows the example of God’s Prophet,
upon whom be peace. Whatever he is wearing in the dream connotes one’s own
state, or the growing or diminishing of his devotion. If one who is promised
something sees the vice-regent or the calif in his dream, it means that his
promise will be fulfilled, and his wishes will come true. Seeing him in a dream
also means that someone from a different circle is backbiting him, or speaking
of him without his consent, or that people are reporting him to the authorities,
or that scholars are discussing him, or mentioning his work. A vice-regent or a
calif in a dream also represents aloofness, seclusion, truthfulness, volunteering
one’s services, commanding what is good and forbidding what is evil, developing
one’s own certitude and faith, repentance, abstaining from sinful actions,
imprisonment, sickness, or travels. If one sees himself being awarded the seat
of the vice-regent or calif in a dream, though he does not suit the position, it
means that adversities and temptations will befall the land, though the people
of knowledge and the righteous ones will escape such danger. It could also mean
that he will suffer humiliation, and that the people whom he manages may rise
to preside over him.

Charity
(Detergent; Discards; Filth; Loan; Tithe) Charity in a dream means
repelling calamities, recovering from illness, profits or truthfulness. This is also
true when it comes to earning one’s money lawfully, but if one gives a dead
animal or alcohol or a stolen or mismanaged money in charity, then his charity
is not acceptable and it means that he will pursue evil and indulge in sin. If a
farmer who is having a bad harvest sees himself giving some of what he plants
in charity in a dream, it means that his crop will increase and his produce will
be blessed. If one donates his charities to a rich person in a dream, it means that
he may suffer from tight financial circumstances, or that he may come to be in
need of such a person. If one gives a charitable donation to a prostitute in a
dream, it means that she will repent of her sin. If he gives a charity to a thief
in a dream, it means that the thief will cease his profession. Charity in a dream
also could mean suppressing the envy or spite of one’s rivals or subdue the
jealousy of one’s enemy, averting his dislikes, or suppressing evil in general. If
an angry person sees himself secretly distributing charity in a dream, it means
that God Almighty has forgiven him his sin of anger. Giving charity in secret
in one’s dream also could mean seeking the friendship of people in authority, or
to join the circles of people of knowledge. If a man of knowledge is asked to give
money in charity, and if he complies in his dream, it means that he will expound
his knowledge to others. If he is a merchant, it means that he will benefit others
with his business or teache them his trade. If he is a craftsman, he will teach
people his craft. If one who is under pressures, or if one is scared of something
sees himself feeding a beggar who is undergoing his own trials in a dream, it
means that one’s fears and stress will be dispelled. Charity in a dream also
denotes celebrating God’s praises, devotion, visiting the graveyards and doing

tongue represents his translator or his business manager. One’s tongue in a
dream also represents the chief cause of sin. Moving one’s tongue without
speaking in a dream means committing a sin. Seeing an increase in size, width,
or length of one’s tongue in a dream means strength and overcoming one’s
enemy. If one’s tongue becomes elongated with no cause for dispute or argument
in a dream, it means having a bad tongue, or backbiting others, speaking ill
about others, or using base and despicable language. Having a long tongue in
a dream also could mean clarity in one’s speech and eloquence in one’s expressions.
Having two tongues in a dream means acquiring a second language or a second
trade, using a proof other than one’s own in a court of justice, or winning victory
over one’s enemy. If one finds his tongue tied in a dream, it means stagnation
of his business, or it could mean poverty. If black hair grows over one’s tongue
in a dream, it means a fast coming evil. If gray hair grows over one’s tongue in
a dream, then it means a slow coming adversity. Hair growing over one’s tongue
in a dream also means writing or reciting a poem. One’s tongue in a dream also
represents the perfect alibi, the beauty and eloquence of one’s presentation, a
professional presentation, good fame and good conduct. If a governor’s tongue
is cut off in a dream, it means the death of his interpreter or his speech writer.
The human tongue in a dream also represents his pen and his signing authority.
If one’s tongue becomes long and reaches the skies in a dream, it means that he
will be impeached or deposed from his leadership position following his tyranny
and injustices. If the tongue of a leader or a ruler becomes long in a dream, it
also signifies the expansion of his power and the infallibility and effectiveness

husband in a dream, it means that she will flirt with him and show him
tenderness and love. Cutting off the tongue of a poor person in a dream means
giving something to an impudent person to shun off his evil. If a poor person cuts
off the tongue of another poor person in a dream, it means a fight between them.
If one’s tongue sticks to his palate in a dream, it means that he will deny or reject
someone’s right, refute the truth, or lie about a trust he received to keep for a
time. Eating one’s tongue or biting on it in a dream represents an act one will
regret. If a governor sees that in a dream, it means that he swindles people’s
money and receives bribes. Biting on one’s tongue in a dream also means
remaining mostly silent, withholding one’s advice, or controlling one’s fury and
anger. Biting one’s tongue in a dream also could denote gluttony. Cutting off
one’s tongue in a dream means invalidating one’s argument or proof, or
preventing him from asking for anything. The cutting off of a poet’s tongue in
a dream means giving him money for his recitation. Seeing one’s tongue black
in a dream means that one may preside over his own people. If he is a wretched
person, it means that he is a liar. If someone who is scared of something sees
his tongue in a dream, it means that he will lose his battle and become subject
to defamation and humiliation. If a wretched person sees himself having many
tongues in a dream, it means that he will have a large family. Having many
tongues in a dream also means speaking many foreign languages. If one’s tongue
is split in half in a dream, it means that he is a liar. Having many tongues and
of many colors in a dream means telling different and contradictory stories, or
it could represent a music writer. If people touch one’s tongue or suck it in a
dream, it means that they are acquiring his knowledge. It also represents people
toadying or lobbying in official business. One's tongue in a dream also repre¬
sents a hidden treasure, a hidden knowledge, a toadying servant, an employee,
one’s house, a vehicle, a skilled enemy, a seedling of a fruit bearing tree, a bad
wife, a barren woman, one’s spoken and irretrievable words, earnings, collecting
garbage, following someone’s traces, a policeman, or a prisoner. An animal’s
tongue in a dream represents one’s life or death, because for an animal, his
tongue is like a hand through which he takes things. If a scholar’s tongue is cut
off in a dream, it means that he will lose his argument, or it could mean the death
of his assistant, student or son. Losing one’s tongue in a dream represents the
malicious joy of one’s enemy, family, or neighbors for one’s losses, or it could
mean the death of a beloved, severing a relationship, or a plant disease that will
affect one’s fruit bearing trees. Perhaps losing one’s tongue in a dream could
mean separation between husband and wife, divorce, losing one’s job, or moving
to a new town. Having two tongues in a dream also means backbiting others,
or having two faces with people, for people say that so-and so has two tongues
or two faces. If the second tongue does not impede the person from speaking in
the dream, then it denotes his truthfulness, love and affection toward others.
One’s tongue in a dream also may represent something one fears, such as the
collapsing of a roof over his head, or it could represent an enemy. It also means
isolating oneself from people of knowledge and wisdom, or it could mean
remaining mostly silent, minding one’s own business, or offering devotion and
being grateful to God Almighty for His gifts and blessings. One’s tongue in a
dream also represents a captured prisoner of war, or a snake hiding in its pit.

(Kiss; Sweet) Sugar in a dream represents joy, festivities, recovering from
an illness, dispelling anxiety, putting worries aside, fulfilling one’s aspirations,
reaching one’s goals, completing one’s duty, a noble wife, a blessed son, an
intelligent child, or a son who is a genius in all crafts. If sugar is interpreted as
money in the dream, then it means lawful money, and if it is interpreted as a
man of knowledge, his knowledge is then free from innovation. A piece of sugar
candy means a kiss, money, a child, truthfulness, sincerity in words and actions,
recovering from an illness, financial comfort after difficulties, or it could

of one’s fears. Imam Ibn Seerin use to prefer entering the city in a dream rather
than leaving it. A city in a dream also represents a learned person, a wise man
and a scholar. If one enters a city and finds it in ruins in his dream, it means
that the learned people of that city no longer live there. It is said that seeing a
city in a dream means the death of its ruler or an unjust governor from that
place. Seeing a city being built in a dream signifies the growing number of its
learned people and represents children who will continue the path of their
fathers. Seeing a city with no governor in a dream means rising prices. An
unknown city in a dream represents the hereafter, while a known city represents
the world. Seeing oneself in an unknown city in a dream is also a sign of
righteousness. The best of cities in a dream are the large ones. One’s home town
in a dream represents his father, while one’s homeland in a dream represents
his mother. Seeing oneself in a northern city in a dream mean increase of one’s
cash flow. Seeing oneself in a southern city means increase in one’s trickery and
deception. Seeing oneself in a low plateau in a dream means difficulties and
trouble, while seeing oneself in a high plateau means trustworthiness and

peace between people. Driving through an unknown section of a city in a dream
means losses. Entering an old city that is rebuilt and restored in a dream means
that a great and a pious person will be born in that city and he will grow to guide
its people on the path of righteousness. A city in a dream also signifies an oath,
meeting with one’s beloveds, peace, tranquility and safety. Meeting with God¬
fearing people in a dream means attaining one’s goals and receiving glad
tidings. Seeing the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in a dream means adversities,
earthquake, fear and corruption. Seeing a city in a dream also could mean
repentance from sin. A province in a dream represents its governor or renowned
scholars. Governing a city in a dream means rising to a suitable position, getting
married, recovering from an illness, repenting from sin, or receiving guidance
at the hand of a learned shaikh. Seeing a deceased person walking alive in a city
in a dream perhaps means that he is in paradise enjoying its blessings. Seeing
a deceased person in a village in a dream means that he might be in hell laboring
with its people. A city in a dream also represents the entertainment it provides
for its dwellers. The name of a city one sees in a dream should reflect some of

a share in the dream interpretation. Known cities in the world in a dream
represent their rulers. Entering a city one already knows in a dream means that
one will not die until he enters it again, or it could mean that he will receive news
from that city. The walls of a city represent a strong ruler. A demolished wall
of a city in a dream signifies the death of its ruler or his removal from office. If
one sees a flourishing city with its urban construction, factories and farms, his
dream will reflect the spiritual awareness and religious devotion of its people.

Balance
(Scale) A balance and a scale in a dream have similar interpretations.
Both represent faith, justice and righteousness in words and actions. In a
dream, a balance also may represent a wife, or it could mean payment of one's
debts. A steelyard in a dream represents an architect or a builder. A miller's
scale in a dream represents a man who considers himself worthy of respect,
while his actions, earnings and moves are contemptible. A precision scale in a
dream represents a warning against heedlessness and concern for proper
accounting for one's actions. The justice scale represents a judge. If it stands
balanced in one's dream, then it means that the judge of that locality is a just
and a learned person. In a dream, the scales of a balance represents the judge's
ears. The money put on a scale for measuring represents the lawsuits, and the
weights represent the judgment. If one sees himself standing before God
Almighty on Judgment Day and if his good deeds weigh heavier than his sins
in the dream, it means that he will reckon himself, reflect about his bad actions
and correct the course of his life. Consequently, his reward in the hereafter will
be greater. Seeing the Balance of the Day of Judgement in a dream means
vulnerability of people's secrets, exposing one's actions in public, recognition of
the ultimate truth, joy, happiness, victory and justice. If one's deeds are
praiseworthy, then he will be a winner. Ifone's deeds are blameworthy, then he
will be a loser. In general, a balance in a dream represents a guide, an example
to follow, a scholar one seeks to learn at his hand, a ruler, a criterion and the
Qur'fm. It also may represent one's tongue and correctness, truthfulness, lies,

Jihad: (Inner and outer struggle) Joiningthe warriors in the battlefield in a dream
means that one is a true worshiper who attends to his regular prayers and pays
his charities and due alms. If one sees the people charging toward the battle¬
field, it means that they will receive an endowment of divine forgiveness,
victory, might and unity between the believers. To die as a martyr on God’s path
in a dream means joy, happiness and prosperity. Joining a jihad battle in the
sea in a dream means poverty, failure and walking toward destruction. Winning
a sea battle in Jihad against a tyrant in a dream means restoring one’s religious
commitment, and it could represent a protective jealousy for one’s wife, or
winning a struggle in favor of one’s parents. Victory in the battlefield during
Jihad means profits in one’s business. Returning from a holy war against an
oppressor in a dream means that one may lose his religious commitment or

Jinn: (Sing. Jinni) A creation from a smokeless fire. Among the Jinn, some are
believers while others are satans. This is in contrast to human beings who are
created from earth and among them some are believers and others are human
satans. Jinn in a dream represent fraud, deceit, cunning, perfidy, treachery,
theft, alcoholism, invented religious practices, travels, music, bars, tricks,
sleight of hand, illusion, sorcery and magic. If one is transformed into a Jinni
in a dream, it means that he will acquire such qualities. If one meets a Jinni who
displays truthfulness, knowledge and wisdom which is recognizable by the
person in the dream it means that he will receive good news. Seeing Jinn
standing by one’s door in a dream means losses, a vow that must be fulfilled, or
experiencing bad luck. Seeing Jinn entering one’s house and doing work there
in a dream means that thieves may enter that house and cause major losses. If
one sees himself teaching the Quran to a gathering of Jinn in a dream, it means
that he will be appointed to a leadership position. Accompanying Jinn in a
dream means familiarity with, and keeping the company of men of knowledge,
or people of inner knowledge. If one marries a female from amongst the Jinn in
a dream, it means that he will marry an insolent wife, or that he may suffer a
great calamity. If a righteous person sees himself chaining Jinn in a dream, it
means that he holds fast to his prayers, fasting, controls his carnal self and base
desires. Engaging in a battle with Jinn in a dream means that one will be safe
from their evil. To befriend a known leader from amongst the Jinn in a dream
means becoming a police officer and make it one’s profession to pursue criminals
and bandits. It also could mean that one might become a guided man of
knowledge or a teacher. Seeing Jinn gathering in a known locality in a dream
also may indicate the presence of snakes, scorpions, or what human beings may

Beard
For a man, a beard in a dream signifies wealth, honor and dignity. If it is
moderately long or well trimmed in the dream, it means earning respect, rising
in rank, prosperity, beauty and sovereignty. If only the sides of one’s beard are
long and not the middle section in the dream, it means that one will work to save
money for someone else. If one’s beard is too long and lacks proper trimming in
a dream, it means indebtedness, distress and suffering from depression. If it
becomes long to the extent of reaching the floor in the dream, it means death.
If one’s beard grows long and thick in a dream, it means longevity or increase
in one’s wealth. If it reaches his belly in the dream, it means that he does not
obey God’s commands. If it grows longer than one’s grip in the dream, it means
that one lives from the interest he earns from usury. If the hair of one’s beard
is black in the dream, it means prosperity and satisfaction in one’s life. If its color
is greenish-black in the dream, it means extended wealth, power and rulership,
unless if one is a tyrant, for the color of Pharaoh’s beard was greenish-black. If
the color of one’s beard yields to yellow in the dream, it means poverty and
illness. If its color is blondish in the dream, it means a scare. If one grabs his
own beard in the dream and if its hair falls into his hand, and if he keeps holding
to the hair, it means incurring financial losses then recovering them, unless one
discards the hair in the dream. Pulling someone’s from his beard in the dream
means inheriting him. If one sees a young boy who has not reached the age of
puberty having a beard in a dream, it means the child’s death. If the child’s beard
is just starting to grow in the dream, it means that he will grow to lead and
command people. If one’s beard is shallow and if it makes him look fatuous in
a dream, it means payment of one’s debts or easing of his trouble or dispelling
of his distress. If one’s beard looks childish or completely immature in the
dream, it means losing people’s respect. If the color of one’s beard is gold in the
dream, it means that he will lose some respect and perhaps half of his wealth.
Seeing one-half of one’s beard shaved in a dream means poverty. If an unknown
young person shaves one’s beard in a dream, it means loss of dignity and injury
caused by one’s enemy or competitor or someone who carries the same name. If
an old man shaves his beard in a dream, it means that he will lose his good
reputation at the hand of a profiteer and an overpowering enemy. If one’s beard
is cut off in a dream, it means financial losses valued at how far it is trimmed.
Clipping what is longer than man’s grip of one’s beard in a dream means paying
the due alms tax. Cutting off someone’s beard in a dream means swindling his
inheritance. A white beard in a dream means honor, dignity and good fame. If
one’s beard turns gray, leaving few black hairs in the dream, it means earning
respect. If all its hair becomes gray in the dream, it means poverty and loss of
integrity. Seeing one’s wife having a beard in a dream means increase in one’s
wealth or growth of the son’s business, or sickness of one’s wife, or it could mean
that she will no longer be able to conceive children, though if she had a son, it
means that he will control the entire family. If a woman sees herself having a
beard in a dream, it means losing her husband and if she is a widow, it means
that she will marry a hard-working man who is compatible with her. If a
pregnant woman sees that in a dream, it means that she will beget a son, and

dream means wasting money. If one’s beard and head is shaved in a dream, it
means recovering from an illness, satisfying one’s debts or dispelling sorrow and
distress. Having an extraordinarily long beard that one can spin and weave as
a cloth, then sells it in his dream means that he will forge a testimony. Clipping
one’s beard in a dream also means losing money. One’s beard in a dream also
represents his job, business, clothing, gains and losses. Cutting off the hair of
one’s beard with one’s own teeth in a dream means sufferings, distress and
trouble. Swearing by the honor of one’s beard in a dream may denote either one’s
truthfulness or lies, his stinginess or generosity. One’s beard in a dream also
could represent his wife. If a farmer finds the hair of his beard black in a dream,
it means that he should start harvesting his crop. A white beard could denote
illness or frailty. If one’s beard in wakefulness is gray and he sees its color black
in a dream, it means strength, determination, firmness, certainty, having great
energy and exuberance. If one’s beard in his dream seems longer than the usual,
it means being a spendthrift, wasting money, engaging in gambling and
sportinggames, or suffering from depression, or beingtroubled by circumstances.
If a subversive and a sinful person sees himself having a beard in a dream, it
means that he will repent of his sins. If a misguided person sees himself having
a beard in his dream, it means that he will receive guidance. If a woman grows
a beard in her dream, it means that she is trying to be a man, or it could mean
insolence or engaging in wrongdoing. If a child sees himself having a beard in
a dream, it means longevity. Loving a beard and kissing it in a dream means
lacking determination or will, regardless if it is his own beard or if it is someone
else’s beard. If a straw or anything sticks to one’s beard in a dream, it means
hearing bad words. Shaving half of one’s beard in a dream means losing one’s
source of income or loss of one’s dignity. Holding the beard of one’s uncle in a
dream means unjustly inheriting him. If a woman sees herself having a beard
like a man in a dream, it means that she will never beget children, unless if she
has a reddish beard as the natural color of her hair. However, for a man, to have
a reddish beard in a dream means trials and temptation and particularly if some
